इस दिन सोना, चांदी, तांबा और अष्टधातु से बनी वस्तुओं की खरीदारी करने से 13 गुना फल की प्राप्ति होती है। धन तेरस का खरीदारी के साथ व्यापारियों के लिए काफी महत्व है। व्यापारी मुहूर्त देख कर ही बही खाते खरीदते है। इस दिन रात दिन का चौघड़िया मुहूर्त है,लेकिन व्यापारी दिन के चौघड़िया में ही बही-खाते खरीदते हैं।

दक्षिण दिशा की ओर जलाएं दीपक, अकाल मृत्यु से होगी रक्षा - धनतेरस का संबंध यमराज से भी होता है। इस दिन व्यक्ति को अपने घर के दरवाजे के दक्षिण की ओर मिट्टी के दीपक तेल भरकर जलाना चाहिए। इससे मनुष्य की अकाल मृत्यु से रक्षा होती है। इस दिन यह दीपक चर चौघाड़िया में सायं 05:40 से सायं 07:19 तक जलाया जा सकता है।

इस दिन बर्तन खरीदने की परंपरा प्राचीन काल से ही चली आ रही है। भगवान धन्वंतरि धनत्रयोदशी के दिन हाथ में चांदी का पात्र लेकर उत्पन्न हुए थे। भगवान धन्वंतरि को पीयूषपाणि के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वो भगवान विष्णु के अवतार हैं। त्रयोदशी को शास्त्रों के अनुसार धन वृद्धि कारक तिथि बताई गई है। इस दिन सोना, चांदी, तांबा और अष्टधातु से बनी वस्तुओं की खरीदारी करने से 13 गुना फल की प्राप्ति होती है। धनतेरस को अबूझ मुहूर्त के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि धनतेरस के दिन चांदी, सोना खरीदने से सौभाग्य खुलता है और सुख समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है।

Ahoi Ashtami is an auspicious festival that is celebrated with zeal and fervour in India. This particular festival is celebrated approximately eight days before Diwali and four days after Karwa Chauth. Mothers observe the propitious Ahoi Ashtami for the long life and well-being of their children.
Ahoi Ashtami is dedicated to the sons, where mothers observe the fast from dawn to dusk.
However, with changing times an evolution in traditions and culture is also required. High time our daughter's long life, good health and overall well being should also be of utmost priority to us.
