Afraid of getting an endoscopy? 😰 Don't be!

The most common question patients ask is whether an endoscopy hurts. The truth is, it's a very simple, quick, and painless procedure! ✨

Here is what you actually need to know about it:
🔹 The entire process only takes 5 to 10 minutes.
🔹 A numbing spray or mild sedation is used, ensuring you don't feel any pain.
🔹 It helps accurately diagnose ulcers, infections, bleeding, celiac disease, and more.
🔹 A quick, painless biopsy can also be taken during the procedure if necessary.

An endoscopy is nothing to be scared of. Early diagnosis means early and accurate treatment. Don't let fear delay your health! 🩺👇

Spreading Awareness on World Hepatitis Day 2026 💙

It was a privilege to deliver a Health Awareness Talk on Viral Hepatitis at the RITES PSU Headquarters, Gurugram, on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day.

We discussed the importance of:
🩺 Early detection of Hepatitis B & C
💉 The role of vaccination in preventing Hepatitis B
🧪 Timely screening for individuals at risk
🍎 Protecting liver health through healthy lifestyle choices
❤️ How early diagnosis and treatment can prevent cirrhosis and liver cancer

Viral hepatitis remains a significant public health challenge, yet it is one of the few diseases where prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment can save countless lives.

I am grateful to the RITES team for the warm hospitality and enthusiastic participation. It was encouraging to see such active engagement towards promoting employee health and wellness.

Let’s continue to spread awareness

Have you noticed a sudden change in your stool color? 💩⬛

While black stool isn't always a medical emergency—it can sometimes simply be caused by iron supplements or certain medicines—it’s crucial to know when it's time to worry. ⚠️

If your stool is coal-black, sticky, and highly foul-smelling, it could be a condition called *Melena*. This is often a major sign of bleeding in the upper digestive tract, such as from a stomach ulcer or excessive use of painkillers.

🚨 *Seek immediate medical help if you experience black stool along with:*
🔹 Dizziness or extreme weakness
🔹 Blood in your vomit
🔹 A rapid heartbeat

Never ignore these warning signs! A proper medical history and an endoscopy can help find the exact cause and get you the right treatment. 🩺

Teaching is one of the best ways to keep learning.

Had the privilege of conducting a session on the “Therapeutic Advanced Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and then taking the discussion from the classroom to the endoscopy suite, where participants could observe the therapeutic EUS procedures in real-time.

Understanding the science behind ultrasound and then seeing it applied in patient care is what truly brings learning to life.

Grateful to my colleagues for the interactive discussion and thoughtful questions. Looking forward to many more academic exchanges as we continue to learn, teach, and improve patient care.

Learn. Teach. Innovate. Heal.

**CT Scan mein kuch dikhna sirf shuruaat hoti hai. Sahi diagnosis hi sahi treatment ka pehla step hai. 🩺**

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) kuch cases mein pancreas aur aas-paas ke organs ko zyada detail mein evaluate karne mein madad karta hai, jisse doctor ko behtar clinical decision lene mein support milta hai.

Agar aapki reports mein koi concern bataya gaya hai, toh bina ghabraye specialist se consult zaroor karein.

Dealing with constant bloating, gas, or stomach discomfort everyday? 😣

It might not be just a random stomach issue—it could be IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). While symptoms like bloating, pain, and irregular bowel movements are common, remember that there is no single "forbidden food" for everyone. Your triggers are unique to you!

Common culprits often include:
🧄 Onion & Garlic
🫘 Beans, Rajma & Chhole
🥛 Milk & Dairy products
🥤 Fizzy drinks & Artificial sweeteners

These high FODMAP foods can ferment in a sensitive gut, leading to painful cramps and bloating. The most effective way to take control? Start keeping a food diary to note down what triggers your body, and work with a specialist to create a customized low FODMAP diet plan. Managing IBS is less about general restrictions and more about understanding your personal food triggers! 📊💡

Is your lunch always "something quick"? 🥪🛑

Quick bites often mean low fiber, low water, high spice, and high stress—a recipe for poor gut health. Your gut thrives on routine, not random food timings. ⏰🥗

Listen to your body! Bloating and acidity are signals that your digestion needs attention, not just background noise to ignore. ⚠️

Here’s how to build a gut-friendly routine:
✨ Eat at regular intervals
✨ Choose high-fiber foods
✨ Stay hydrated
✨ Chew your food well

Good habits = Healthy gut = A better you. 🌱💪

Acidity after meals? Frequent bloating? Don’t ignore what your stomach is trying to tell you.

That burning sensation in your chest after dinner, persistent acidity, bloating, or a feeling of heaviness after meals may be more than just occasional indigestion. These symptoms can be signs of acid reflux (GERD) or other digestive disorders that can affect your comfort, sleep, and overall quality of life.

The good news is that many digestive issues can be effectively managed with the right diagnosis, lifestyle modifications, and personalized treatment. Simple changes such as eating smaller meals, avoiding late-night dinners, staying hydrated, and identifying trigger foods can make a significant difference.

If acidity, bloating, or digestive discomfort is becoming a regular part of your day, it’s time to seek expert advice rather than relying on temporary relief.
