During the cover-uncover test, your eye doctor looks for a small movement of the eye when one eye is covered and then uncovered.

If an eye moves to refocus, it may indicate a squint (strabismus) or a hidden eye misalignment. This simple test helps detect whether both eyes are working together properly.

Early detection is important because untreated squint can affect vision, depth perception, and, in children, may even lead to lazy eye (amblyopia).

If you notice an eye drifting or have symptoms like double vision or eye strain, don’t ignore it—get a comprehensive eye examination.

Preparing for the Indian Air Force Airman Group X (Technical) or Group Y (Non-Technical) Medical Examination?

In this video, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary explains the complete eye medical examination, vision standards, spectacle power limits, and whether laser vision correction is allowed.

In this video, you will learn:
• Distance vision should be 6/12 without glasses, correctable to 6/6.
• Maximum spectacle power allowed:
Hypermetropia: Up to +2.00 D spherical
Myopia: Up to -1.00 D spherical
Astigmatism: Up to 0.50 D cylinder
• Near vision examination
• Colour vision testing
• Eye movement examination
• Eye alignment assessment
• Cover-Uncover Test for squint
• Complete eye health examination before selection

Candidates with spectacle power beyond the permitted limits are generally not eligible. Conventional LASIK procedures are not accepted for Air Force Airman entry.

In this video, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary also discusses advanced flapless, bladeless, cutless laser vision correction procedures such as Epi Contoura and WaveLight Plus InnovEyes, which preserve the natural corneal strength without creating a corneal flap.

Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary, Chairman of Eye7 Eye Hospitals and one of India’s leading ICL surgeons, explains everything you need to know about ICL surgery.

In this video, he addresses safety concerns surrounding ICL surgery and clarifies that it does not cause blindness.

He emphasizes that a major advantage of the procedure is its reversibility—just as it takes only about five minutes to insert the lens, it can also be safely removed in five minutes if any issues arise, restoring the eye's vision to its pre-surgery state.

Does cataract surgery hurt? Is it painful during the operation?

One of the biggest fears patients have before cataract surgery is whether they will experience pain. In this video, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary explains how the level of comfort differs between various cataract surgery techniques and why modern technology has significantly improved the patient experience.

In this video, you'll learn about:

✅ ECCE (Extracapsular Cataract Extraction)
✅ SICS (Small Incision Cataract Surgery)
✅ Phacoemulsification (Phaco Cataract Surgery)
✅ AI Robotic Cataract Surgery
✅ Unity 4D Cataract Surgery

You'll understand:

Why older cataract surgeries required eye injections and stitches.

Why modern phaco and AI robotic cataract surgery are generally painless but can still cause a sensation of pressure during surgery.

How Unity 4D Cataract Surgery performs the procedure at physiological (normal) eye pressure, making it one of the most comfortable cataract surgery experiences available.

If you're planning cataract surgery or helping a family member choose the best option, this video explains the differences in a simple, easy-to-understand way.

Confused about Toric vs Non-Toric lenses in cataract surgery?
In this reel, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary explains how modern cataract surgery not only removes the cataract but can also reduce or eliminate your spectacle number by selecting the right intraocular lens (IOL).

In this video, you will learn:
• What is a Non-Toric (Standard) Cataract Lens?
• What is a Toric Cataract Lens?
• Which patients need a Toric lens?
• Which patients are suitable for a Non-Toric lens?
• How spherical power is corrected during cataract surgery
• How cylindrical power (astigmatism) is corrected using Toric lenses
• Why patients with only spherical power usually receive a Non-Toric lens
• Why patients with significant cylindrical power (astigmatism) may require a Toric lens
• Why Toric lenses are generally recommended when the corneal cylinder is 0.75 diopters or more
• How choosing the correct lens can reduce your dependence on spectacles after cataract surgery

Choosing the right lens is one of the most important decisions in cataract surgery. Understanding the difference between Toric and Non-Toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) can help you achieve the best possible vision after surgery.
