If you have diabetes, don’t just focus on eating less sugar. Focus on what you eat, portion sizes and your individual blood glucose response. 🩸🌿
Diabetes-friendly foods to include in a balanced diet:
🌾 Jowar atta: A fibre-rich alternative to refined flour. Enjoy in controlled portions with protein and vegetables.
🥒 Karela: Low in calories and carbohydrates, with fibre and beneficial plant compounds.
🌱 Chia seeds: Rich in soluble fibre and healthy fats. Add 1–2 tsp to curd, salads or smoothies.
🍏 Guava: A fibre-rich whole fruit option. Avoid guava juice.
🌰 Almonds and nuts: Provide healthy fats, fibre and protein. Choose small portions as they are calorie-dense.
🍎 ACV: May modestly support post-meal glucose in some people, but it is not a diabetes treatment. Always dilute it and consult your healthcare professional if you take diabetes medication.
Remember, there is no magic food or single best atta for diabetes. Build your plate with fibre, protein, vegetables, healthy fats and appropriate carbohydrate portions. Portion size, activity, sleep and meal timing matter too.
