Ever wondered what your walk says about you? 🚶

3D gait analysis measures how you move, step by step:
✅ Step length, speed and rhythm
✅ Hip, knee and ankle angles through every step
✅ Left–right symmetry and balance

Your physiotherapist uses this data to see what the eye can miss, set clear goals and track progress over time. It's useful after a stroke, after knee or hip surgery, for runners and athletes, and for people who have had repeated falls.

Available at select APARC centres in Delhi NCR and beyond — ask us which centre is nearest to you.

Knee arthritis? Movement is medicine. 🦵

On , here are 3 simple exercises our physiotherapists often start with for knee osteoarthritis:

1️⃣ Quadriceps sets — press the back of your knee into a rolled towel, hold 5 seconds, 10 reps
2️⃣ Straight leg raise — lift the straight leg to the height of the other knee, 10 reps
3️⃣ Sit-to-stand — rise from a firm chair without using your hands, 8–10 reps

Mild discomfort is okay. Sharp or worsening pain? Stop and get assessed — every knee is different.

📌 Save this and share it with someone whose knees need some love.

Women’s Health Physiotherapy: Common Does Not Mean Ignore It

Some concerns may be common after childbirth, during pregnancy or with age—but that does not mean they should be silently accepted.

Women’s health physiotherapy can assess pelvic-floor function, bladder control, breathing, core control and lumbopelvic function. After delivery, recovery is not simply about “ab exercises”; coordinated breathing, core and pelvic-floor function may all need attention.

Urine leakage with coughing, sneezing or running deserves a proper assessment. When appropriate, a personalised plan may include supervised pelvic-floor muscle training, core work and functional training.

Featuring Dr. Afiya Sadiq (PT), Chief Physiotherapist, APARC Dwarka Sector 6, Department of Physiotherapy, Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka, Delhi.

Save this reel and share it with a woman who may benefit from supportive, confidential care. For an individual assessment, connect with APARC through the link in bio.

_Educational content only. Pelvic-floor symptoms can have different causes; assessment should guide the treatment plan._

"Which of your services do I actually need?"

Fair question, and the website answer is usually a wall of specialisms. So here it is in four lines.

Pain, stiffness or injury in a joint or muscle → musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.
After a stroke, brain or spinal injury — or living with Parkinson's or MS → neuro-rehabilitation.
Pregnancy, postnatal recovery, pelvic floor or menopause → women's health physiotherapy.
A child whose movement you are worried about → paediatric physiotherapy.

And if none of those quite fits, or two of them do: call and describe the problem in your own words. Working out which service you need is our job, not yours — and no referral is required to be assessed.

Save this one. It's the post to send to whoever in your family keeps saying they'll "give it another few weeks".

"Better" is a feeling. "Improved" is a measurement.

Both matter. But only one of them can tell you whether you're actually ready to go back to the thing you stopped doing.

That's the whole argument for measuring: range, strength, balance, gait. Not to make it clinical — to make it honest.

Stroke Upper-Limb Rehabilitation

After a stroke, repeatedly moving the weaker arm is not the whole rehabilitation plan.

Upper-limb rehabilitation may bring together sensory input, better movement control and the person’s active participation. Practice becomes more meaningful when it connects with real tasks—reaching, grasping and placing an object in the right position.

This is task-specific training: practising activities that relate to what the person wants and needs to do in daily life.

Featuring Dr. Dharam Pandey, Director & HOD, APARC Dwarka Sector 6, Department of Physiotherapy, Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka, Delhi.

Save this reel for your stroke-rehabilitation journey and ask your rehabilitation professional how task practice can be adapted safely to your goals.

How rehabilitation supports someone living with dementia — written for the person doing the caring, because that's usually who's reading.

We are not treating the memory. We are protecting the day.

Dementia is not a physiotherapy diagnosis. But the physical decline that travels alongside it is — walking slows and steadies less, falls become more likely and more consequential, standing and dressing and the bathroom get harder, activity drops and strength drops faster still.

So the goals are practical: reduce falls, keep walking for as long as walking is possible, protect the transfers that quietly decide whether care can stay at home, and teach the carer how to help without injuring themselves.

The honest limit, on slide 5: rehabilitation does not slow dementia. It changes what the day looks like while living with it. We won't tell you otherwise, and you should be cautious of anyone who does.

One thing worth knowing — slide 6. Dementia progresses gradually. A change over hours or days is usually something else, often an infection, and needs a doctor the same day.

If you're carrying this alone, ask early rather than after the first fall. 📞 +91 98189 11195

"My father had a stroke. How do we know if therapy is working?"

The most important question a family can ask — and the one that can't be answered by feel.

"He seems a bit better" is not a measurement. It's honest and well meant, and it moves with the weather, the visitor, and how everyone slept.

Four numbers, tracked every few weeks, will tell you more than six months of impressions:

1. How many times he can stand from a chair in thirty seconds.
2. How far he walks in six minutes — or how far before he needs to stop.
3. How much help dressing takes: none, a little, or all of it.
4. Grip strength on the affected side.

Then use this sentence at every review: "What did you measure, and what was it last time?" Any therapist working properly will have the answer ready.

And if the numbers haven't moved in a month, that isn't failure. It's the signal to change the programme.

Spinal Cord Injury: Every Rehab Journey Is Different

After a spinal cord injury, every person’s recovery and rehabilitation journey is different.

Planning starts with an assessment of factors such as injury level, muscle control, sensation, balance and function. Trunk control, bed mobility and safe transfers may be important steps toward greater independence.

When clinically appropriate, standing and gait training may also form part of rehabilitation. The priorities, pace and methods must be individualised.

Featuring Dr. Satish Kumar (PT), Director & HOD, ACNR Pitampura Residential Rehabilitation Center.

Save this reel and connect with a qualified spinal-cord-injury rehabilitation team for an individual assessment.

_Educational content only. Standing or gait training is not appropriate for everyone and must follow clinical assessment and safety screening._
