We often use guilt and shame interchangeably, but they shape us in very different ways.

Guilt helps us grow. It says, “I did something wrong.”
Shame makes us hide. It says, “I am something wrong.”

Understanding this difference matters because while guilt can guide you toward repair and empathy, shame can quietly erode your sense of worth.

If these feelings start feeling too heavy or constant, professional help can give you the space to untangle them and rebuild compassion for yourself.

7 Facts About Counseling Everyone Should Know.

1. It’s not advice-giving.
Counselors don’t tell you what to do, they help you understand why you feel, think, and act the way you do.

2. It’s for everyone.
You don’t need a diagnosis to go for counseling. Stress, confusion, heartbreak, or burnout all are valid reasons to seek help.

3. It’s confidential.
What you share stays between you and your counselor. It’s a safe, private space to open up.

4. It’s about self-awareness.
The goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you understand yourself deeply and live more consciously.

5. It takes time.
Real change doesn’t happen overnight, therapy is a process, not a quick fix.

6. It builds emotional strength.
Counseling teaches you tools to manage emotions, set boundaries, and handle challenges with resilience.

7. It’s an act of courage.
Choosing to seek help is strength not weakness. It means you’re taking charge of your mental and emotional health.

✨ Counseling isn’t about being “sick”, it’s about being self-aware, balanced, and emotionally healthy.

7 Common Misconceptions About Counseling in India

1. “Counseling is only for people with mental illness.”
Not true. Many people seek counseling for stress, relationships, career confusion, or self-growth, not just mental illness.

2. “Talking to friends is the same as talking to a counselor.”
Friends listen, but counselors help you understand patterns, emotions, and solutions in a structured way. It’s a professional process, not casual advice.

3. “Once you start therapy, you can’t stop.”
Therapy isn’t a lifetime commitment. You continue only as long as it helps. Think of it as a gym for your mind, you stop when you feel stronger.

4. “Counselors will judge me.”
A good counselor creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely, without fear of being misunderstood.

5. “Counselors just give advice.”
Actually, they don’t. They help you find your own answers through reflection and awareness. It’s empowerment, not instruction.

6. “Therapy is expensive and only for the elite.”
Many affordable and community-based counseling options exist now. Mental health support is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

7. “People will think I’m weak if I go for therapy.”
Seeking help shows courage, not weakness. It means you’re choosing to take charge of your well-being.

It’s time we normalize counseling, for everyone, at every stage of life.

What does the public really think about mental health?

We went out on the streets to ask people what mental health means to them — and their answers will surprise you. Some spoke with confidence, some hesitated, and some shared stories that truly touched us.

Everyone had a perspective, but one thing was clear — people want to talk about mental health. They just need someone to start the conversation.

This video is a glimpse into how our society is slowly changing its mindset. It’s raw, real, and a reminder that awareness begins with listening.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Watch it, share it, and tell us what you think about mental health in the comments.

Here’s what most people miss 👇

1. Lack of honest communication
Silence creates distance faster than arguments. When you stop sharing what you feel, someone else eventually listens.

2. Emotional neglect
You don’t need to touch someone to betray your partner — giving your emotions elsewhere can hurt just as deeply.

3. No clear boundaries
Every healthy relationship needs limits. Without them, “friendly” connections slowly turn into attachments.

4. Forgiveness without accountability
Saying “sorry” is easy. Owning the impact and rebuilding trust is what real maturity looks like.

5. Confusing tolerance with maturity
Being calm doesn’t mean accepting everything. Maturity is knowing when to walk away from what disrespects your peace.

Cheating isn’t just a physical act, it starts where emotional honesty ends.

Most people don’t go to therapy because they think “I’m not that bad.”
But therapy isn’t just for crises — it’s for clarity.
If you’ve been overthinking, feeling stuck, or simply exhausted by your own thoughts… let’s talk once.

What does mental health really mean to people?

This World Mental Health Day, our team from Apex Psychological Solution went to Connaught Place to have real conversations with everyday people who live, work, and breathe in this city.

We asked them simple yet powerful questions.
What do you think about therapy?
Why do so many still hesitate to seek help?
What stops people from talking about their emotions?

The responses were raw, honest, and deeply human. Some spoke about stigma. Some shared personal struggles. Some simply said, “No one ever asked me this before.”

That moment when people opened up without fear reminded us why awareness matters. Because mental health is not a luxury, it is a shared responsibility.

Through this reel, we want to keep that conversation alive. Watch it, share it, and most importantly, talk about it. You never know whose silence you might break.

Sometimes it’s not failure that breaks a child, it’s the pressure of being misunderstood.
When communication turns into control, both parents and children suffer in silence.
At Apex, we help families rebuild understanding, trust, and emotional balance.
