Every cancer journey is different, but many patients experience these emotional stages.

🚫 Denial – β€œThis can’t be true.”
😠 Anger – β€œWhy did this happen to me?”
πŸ™ Bargaining – Hoping for a miracle or second chance.
πŸ˜” Depression – Feeling fear, sadness, and uncertainty.
πŸ’ͺ Acceptance – Taking the first step towards treatment and recovery.

Acceptance doesn’t mean giving upβ€”it means choosing to fight.

🚨 Your tumor is the same size on the latest scanβ€”but does that mean your treatment has stopped working? πŸ€”

Not necessarily. βœ…

In many cancer treatments, the tumor shrinks significantly at the beginning because cancer cells respond to the medicine. Over time, the remaining mass may stay the same size, even if there are no active cancer cells left. In many cases, what remains is simply scar tissue or dead tissue.

πŸ“Š As long as the tumor is not growing and no new tumors are appearing, the disease may be considered stable or in remission. This is called Stable Disease, and it is often a positive sign that the treatment is continuing to control the cancer.

Remember, treatment success is not judged by tumor size alone. Your oncologist evaluates your scans, symptoms, blood tests, and overall clinical condition before making any treatment decisions. πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ

Hair Loss During Chemotherapy? Think Again. πŸ‘€

is an advanced supportive care technology that may help reduce Chemotherapy-Induced Alopecia (CIA) during treatment.

β€’ Lowers the scalp temperature before, during, and after chemotherapy
β€’ Causes vasoconstriction, reducing blood flow to the scalp
β€’ Limits the amount of chemotherapy reaching the hair follicles
β€’ Helps protect rapidly dividing hair follicle cells from chemotherapy damage
β€’ May significantly reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss in eligible patients

The effectiveness of scalp cooling depends on factors such as the chemotherapy regimen, drug dosage, and individual response. It may not be suitable for every patient or every type of cancer.

Consult your medical oncologist to understand whether scalp cooling is an appropriate option for your treatment plan.

Compassionate access allows patients to access drugs that they might otherwise never be able to get. There are rules and processes but it may allow access to lifesaving drugs like ONC201.

ONC201 is a breakthrough drug for childhood cancer that is unavailable in India and unaffordable for most patients. Ask your oncologist about compassionate drug access

🚨 Platelet count is only 20,000… Can a Bone Marrow Biopsy still be done?

Many people believe a Bone Marrow Biopsy is unsafe when platelet counts are low. The truth isβ€”it isn’t.

βœ”οΈ There is no minimum platelet count required for a Bone Marrow Biopsy.
βœ”οΈ When medically indicated, it can be safely performed even if the platelet count is extremely lowβ€”or even zero.
βœ”οΈ Bone Marrow Biopsy is one of the most important tests for diagnosing blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and bone marrow failure disorders.
βœ”οΈ Delaying this test because of low platelets can delay an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment.
βœ”οΈ Always consult an experienced oncologist for the right guidance.
