“Can I still eat rice?”
“Do I have to give up roti?”
“Will I ever be able to eat normally again?”

These are some of the biggest concerns people have when diagnosed with diabetes or insulin resistance.

But managing blood sugar doesn’t have to mean living on restrictive diets, eliminating your favourite foods or constantly worrying about every meal.

In my 14-week Diabetes Reversal Programme, we focus on understanding YOUR body and building sustainable habits

Because knowing what to eat is only one part of the journey. Learning how to apply it consistently, with the right guidance and accountability, makes a difference.

Today, I’m sharing a client’s experience from my 14-week programme.

Every journey is individual, but the goal remains the same: helping you make informed food choices, manage your blood sugar and build a healthier relationship with food.

Preserving muscle and strength is part of protecting your health.

And this is why sustainable fat loss requires more than another diet plan.

It requires understanding your body.

DETOX DIETS. NAVRATRI FASTING. OZEMPIC.

Different methods. Same question:

Are you losing FAT… or simply losing WEIGHT?

Because if your weight drops but you’re also losing muscle and strength, you may be compromising your health just to see a smaller number on the scale.

Healthy fat loss should preserve your muscle, strength and metabolic health.

You don’t need to starve, detox or fear food.

You need to lose excess fat while keeping the body you need for a healthy life.

Stop chasing weight loss. Start chasing HEALTHY fat loss.

Preserving muscle and strength is part of protecting your health.

And this is why sustainable fat loss requires more than another diet plan.

It requires understanding your body.

Trying to manage blood sugar but getting hungry between meals?
Don’t automatically reach for “sugar-free” biscuits, protein bars or packaged diet snacks.

Sugar-free doesn’t always mean blood-sugar-friendly.
InStead, choose snacks that bring protein, fibre and healthy fats to the table — so you’re not just reaching for another quick carbohydrate hit.

Here are 5 simple options:

1) EGGS
A protein-rich snack with very little carbohydrate, making it a satisfying option when you need something that is unlikely to cause a significant blood glucose rise on its own.

2) ALMONDS OR WALNUTS
Packed with healthy fats, fibre and some protein. Have them on their own or pair a small portion with fruit for a more balanced snack.

3) PEANUTS OR CHANA
Turn them into a simple chana or peanut bhel with onions, cucumber, tomato, coriander and lemon. You get protein and fibre along with plenty of crunch and flavour.

4) PLAIN CURD
Choose plain, unsweetened home-set curd or Greek yogurt instead of flavoured or sweetened yogurt. Add seeds for extra fibre, healthy fats and texture.

5) PUMPKIN SEEDS
A nutrient-dense source of magnesium, along with healthy fats, protein and fibre.
Magnesium is involved in glucose metabolism and insulin action, but remember — no single food “brings down” blood sugar or reverses insulin resistance by itself.

Your overall diet, movement, sleep, stress and daily habits matter far more than one magic snack.

And that’s the real goal:

Not eating less.

Not fearing food.

Not living on “diabetic” or “sugar-free” packaged snacks.

But learning how to make smarter, more balanced choices that support blood sugar and metabolic health.

That’s what I teach through my functional nutrition and Glucose Biohacking approach — using food as medicine and lifestyle as therapy.

📌 SAVE this reel so you have these snack ideas handy the next time hunger hits.

Carbs aren’t the "villain" in your fitness journey—your timing is just off.

When you understand how your metabolism actually processes glucose, you can stop the restriction cycle and start eating for energy. Here is how to master the clock:

1) Dress Your Carbs: Never eat carbs alone. Always pair them with veggies , protein, or healthy fats to slow down the sugar spike.

2 ) The "Golden Window": Aim to consume your densest carbs around your workouts when your muscles are ready to use that fuel for recovery.

3) The Power of Cooling: Did you know that cooking and then cooling starches like rice or potatoes for 24 hours turns them into resistant starch? This simple trick lowers the glycemic index and feeds your gut bacteria instead of spiking your blood sugar.

4 ) The 10-Minute Hack: A quick walk after a carb-heavy meal acts like a vacuum, pulling glucose straight into your muscles.

5 )Follow the Sun: Your body is naturally more insulin-sensitive in the morning.

Bonus Tip: The Order Matters. You don’t have to change what you eat, just the order. Eating your fiber and protein first acts as a physical

Stop fearing the fuel and start timing it right.

5 FOOD GROUPS YOUR GUT NEEDS REGULARLY

If you think gut health starts and ends with a probiotic supplement, think again.

Your gut microbiome needs diversity.

And instead of obsessing over one “superfood,” build your routine around these 5 food groups:

1) PROBIOTIC FOODS

These contain beneficial live microorganisms that can support a healthy gut microbiome.

Think: curd, traditional fermented foods and other probiotic-rich foods that suit your body.

2) PREBIOTIC FOODS

Your beneficial gut bacteria need food too!

Include fibre-rich foods such as onions, garlic, vegetables, legumes, oats and other plant foods to provide prebiotic fibres.

3) HERBS & SPICES

Your everyday kitchen can be your first line of food diversity.

Think turmeric, ginger, cumin, ajwain, fennel, coriander and other herbs and spices that add both flavour and plant compounds to your meals.

4) ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS

Build your plate around colourful, minimally processed whole foods — vegetables, nuts and seeds, herbs, spices and other nutrient-dense foods that can contribute to an overall anti-inflammatory eating pattern.

5) SEASONAL FRUITS & VEGETABLES

Stop fearing fruit because of its natural sugar.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables bring different fibres, vitamins, minerals and plant compounds to your diet.

The goal isn’t to eat the same “gut health superfoods” every day.

It’s DIVERSITY.

Because a healthy gut isn’t built by one probiotic capsule, one detox drink or one expensive supplement.

It’s built meal after meal through a diverse, fibre-rich, colourful and nourishing diet.

This is what informed nutrition looks like.

Less fear.
Less food confusion.
More diversity.
More understanding of your body.

Stop being health-influenced. Become health-informed.

JUICE CLEANSES. DETOX TEAS. WEEKEND FASTING.

And still… bloating, acidity and that uncomfortable tight feeling around your tummy?

Here’s what nobody tells you: a weekend detox can’t replace the everyday habits that support your gut health.

You may be unknowingly adding to your gut’s workload with habits like:

Too much chai or coffee
Having fruit or dessert immediately after meals
Frequent ordering-in and eating out
Late dinners at 10–11 pm
Weekend binge eating
Late-night snacking

For some people, these patterns may contribute to digestive discomfort, disrupted routines and low energy.

And then you wonder…

Why do my clothes still feel tight after a juice cleanse?

Why does acidity keep coming back, even when I’m eating “bland” food?

Why am I always dealing with bloating, cravings or digestive discomfort?

The answer isn’t necessarily another detox.

It’s time to look at your everyday habits, meal timing, food choices, sleep and stress — the foundations that influence your gut and overall metabolic health.

Inside my signature programme, Biohack Your Gut, we use a structured 5R approach to support gut health and help you build sustainable habits around digestion and wellbeing.

No crash cleanses.
No quick fixes.
No unnecessary food fear.

Just practical, personalised steps to help you understand your gut and work towards lasting digestive wellness.

Are you taking one pill for blood pressure, another for blood sugar, supplements for fatty liver and something else for high uric acid?

And yet… you still don’t feel truly healthy.

What if these problems aren’t completely separate?

In metabolic health, several conditions can share common underlying drivers such as insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, excess visceral fat, poor sleep, stress and lifestyle factors.

That’s why simply chasing one number at a time may not address the bigger picture.

Think of your body like an interconnected system.

When insulin resistance develops, it can affect how your body handles glucose, stores fat and regulates metabolism. Over time, this can be associated with metabolic problems such as fatty liver, elevated blood pressure and abnormal uric acid levels.

This is where a root-cause approach becomes important.

As a Functional Nutritionist specialising in diabetes reversal and metabolic health, I look beyond individual reports and look at the bigger picture:

Nutrient-dense, personalised nutrition
Daily movement and exercise
Sleep and circadian rhythm
Stress and nervous-system regulation
Insulin sensitivity and metabolic flexibility
Lifestyle strategies that support lower inflammation

The goal isn’t to chase every symptom separately.

It’s to understand what may be driving the metabolic imbalance and work on the foundations that support better health.

Because your body doesn’t function in silos.

Your blood sugar, energy, appetite, sleep, digestion, liver health and metabolic health are all connected.

Stop being health-influenced.

Become health-informed.
