Your diabetic patient has numbness in both feet. You document “diabetic neuropathy” and move on.
Check the B12 first.
Metformin is one of the most missed causes of B12 deficiency — on the ward and in Part 1 stems.
Two more you prescribe every day:
Long-term PPIs → B12 and magnesium
Isoniazid → B6 (this is why we co-prescribe pyridoxine)
