courses and seminars to keep up with the newest techniques. At First Steps, we believe that a child’s OT program is a collaborative effort initiated by the therapist and carried out beyond the OT sessions in the clinic, throughout the child’s daily life, and hence, we work closely in conjunction with the parents and families to achieve the best results. We offer individual occupational therapy treatment sessions for a specific duration at an appropriate frequency based on each child’s need to help the child achieve his or her treatment goals. We also guide and educate parents or the primary caregivers to carry out the individualised home-based program. in addition, we offer specialised group programs which are designed to enhance a child’s individual care plan. Groups help children practice new skills in a group setting, facilitating increased confidence and fostering sustained progress.

Is your child clumsy?
Do they often run into walls or furniture?
Do they often fidget in their chairs?
Do they have poor handwriting?
Do they often lean over their desks?
If answer to any or all of these questions is "YES", then probably they have weak core muscle strength.
Many kids now have poor posture, deprived vestibular system (balance and coordination), sensory overload, and poor core strength. Too much sitting due to excessive video gaming, and reduced play-based movement causes a weak core.

This is why we are seeing an increase in kids with learning challenges like Sensory Processing Disorder(SPD), ADHD, Autism, Dysgraphia, and Dyslexia.
