Yoganusasanam - Iyengar Yoga Delhi

Yoganusasanam - Iyengar Yoga Delhi Yoganusasanam by Neeru Kathpal offers classes based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, one of the foremost exponents of yoga in the world today. K. S.

Neeru Kathpal started learning Iyengar Yoga in 1999. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and a regular practitioner for over 15 years now. She dedicated herself to Iyengar Yoga in 2000 and began teaching in 2010. Neeru has had the great fortune to receive her teacher training certificate from BKS Iyengar. Neeru follows the traditional, disciplined Iyengar approach to yoga with a lot of energy

and humor. Iyengar Yoga, named after and developed by B. Iyengar, is a form of Hatha Yoga that is characterized by great attention to detail and precise focus on body alignment. Iyengar Yoga often makes use of props, such as belts, blocks, bolsters, benches and blankets etc as aids in performing asanas. The props enable students to perform the asanas correctly, minimizing the risk of injury or strain, and also allowing elderly, injured, tired or ill students to enjoy the benefits of many asanas via fully supported methods. Iyengar Yoga differs from the other styles of yoga by three key elements: Technique, Sequence and Timing.

• Technique refers to the precision of the body alignment and the performance of pranayama.
• Sequence means the sequences in which asanas and breathing exercises are practiced. Following the specific sequence is important in achieving the desired result, because only the combination of certain poses and breathing techniques can ensure the expected positive effect.
• Timing is the third key element, which defines the time spent in each pose or pranayama.

There was a time when Dr. Pooja Sethi couldn't fully straighten her knee after a serious accident and multiple fractures. Surgery was even recommended.

With consistent Iyengar Yoga practice, patience, and proper guidance, she gradually regained the ability to straighten her knee,
something that once felt impossible.

Healing doesn't always happen overnight. Sometimes, it happens one practice at a time.
Hear her story in her own words🤍

Performing Yogasanas with the aid of a rope has many advantages. Difficult asanas can be practiced with ease. Due to the rope movement the spine becomes supple and even difficult asanas can be done easily and safely and a sense of direction is developed by regular practice. Everyone can do Yoga Kurunta without injuring themselves.

Mandalasana teaches us to move with awareness, maintaining balance and stability. Every turn, every action, and every breath becomes an opportunity to observe and evolve.

Viparita Dandasana invites us to open the body with intelligence, creating space, strength, and fearlessness without losing precision.

Together, these asanas remind us that yoga is not about reaching a shape, but about refining our observation and understanding with every practice.

On this Guru Purnima, we offer our deepest gratitude to Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar, whose wisdom continues to inspire generations of practitioners. The greatest tribute to a guru is sincere and dedicated practice.

Pranam to Guruji, Happy Guru Purnima🙏

In Iyengar yoga, the "intelligent flow of the body" is not a rapid, athletic transition between poses, but rather a subtle, unbroken, and conscious flow of awareness within and between postures. It emphasizes using alignment, precision, and props to cultivate deep, internal awareness, transforming asana from mere exercise into a "moving meditation"

Conquest of body is conquest of matter.
So if you have not conquered the matter,
how can you conquer the spirit?
And you say I can't do it, so naturally that means you cannot conquer the spirit because you have not conquered the matter.
Without matter you cannot go higher.
