On May 25, 2026, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Deoghar is celebrating its 8th Foundation Day. Ahead of this event, the AIIMS auditorium has been beautified with the traditional arts of Jharkhand, courtesy of Pradhan Acharya dev ji of Satsang Deoghar. Artists from the Utshriji —Pawan Rai, Subhendu Mondal, Ranjeet Mana Jana, and Reeti Sundar Rai—have created life-sized figures in the Adivasi Dokra style and mural paintings of the Jhumair dance. They have also created paintings of Dhanvantari and Sushruta, along with Sohrai paintings.

The auditorium complex has been designed to represent tribal culture. Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Gangane, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Deoghar, expressed gratitude to Satsang Ashram, Deoghar for their courtesy and thanked the artists.He expressed confidence that through these traditional arts, along with a sense of respect for the local culture, awareness for the service of patients and simultaneous preservation of tribal identity will increase.

The College of Nursing, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Deoghar celebrated International Nurses’ Week from 7th May to 12th May 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from Nursing Officers, Senior Nursing Officers, and Student Nurses. The week-long celebration was organized to recognize the invaluable contribution of nurses toward patient care and healthcare services while encouraging creativity, professional pride, and academic participation among nursing personnel.
The theme for International Nurses’ Day 2026 was:
“Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”
Keeping the theme in focus, a series of academic and creative competitions were conducted throughout the week. The activities included:
• Poster Competition
• Slogan Writing Competition
• Write-up Competition
• Poetry Competition
All the events revolved around the significance of nursing empowerment, dedication, compassion, and the future role of nurses in strengthening healthcare systems. Participants expressed their ideas creatively and highlighted the critical contribution of nurses in saving lives and promoting quality patient care.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from Nursing Officers, Senior Nursing Officers, and Student Nurses. The events provided a platform for participants to showcase their talent, creativity, and professional commitment while fostering team spirit and healthy competition among the nursing fraternity.
The concluding celebration of International Nurses’ Day was held on 12th May 2026 at the Auditorium, AIIMS Deoghar, from 12:00 Noon to 1:20 P.M. The programme was attended by faculty members, nursing professionals, students, and dignitaries of the institute.
During the celebration, the importance of the nursing profession and the dedication of nurses toward patient welfare were acknowledged and appreciated. The programme emphasized the need for empowering nurses through education, leadership, and professional development to ensure better healthcare outcomes for society.
The event concluded successfully with appreciation for all participants and organizers who contributed to making the International Nurses’ Week celebration meaningful and memorable. The Department of Pediatrics & Neonatology, AIIMS Deoghar successfully conducted Kangaroo Mother care awareness day which is celebrated on 15th May every year.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by the parents of premature newborns along with Executive Director, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin N.Gangane, in the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.)Vanita Lal, Dean Student Welfare; Prof. (Dr.) Harminder Singh, Dean Academics; Prof.(Dr.) Somashekhar Nimbalkar, Dean Research and HOD Department of Pediatrics; Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar, Medical Superintendent; Prof.(Dr.) C.Vasantha Kalyani, Principal college of Nursing; and other esteemed faculties.
Kangaroo Mother Care, promotes prolonged skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby along with exclusive breastfeeding,early discharge and follow up. It has proven to be a cost effective lifesaving intervention for premature and low birth weight newborns. During the event, parents emotionally shared how KMC helped their babies gain strength, maintain warmth, improved feeding, and recover faster during their stay in the neonatal unit.
The gathering was filled with joy as healthy and thriving children, once tiny premature babies fighting for survival, came back to meet the doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers who had supported them through their difficult days. Their stories highlighted not only the medical benefits of KMC but also the emotional bond and confidence it creates between parents and their newborns.
The celebration served as a reminder that compassionate newborn care, parental involvement, and simple evidence-based practices like Kangaroo Mother Care can make a remarkable difference in the lives of fragile newborns and their families

Observance of Fire Safety Week 2026 successfully completed at AIIMS Deoghar
In continuation of the observance of Fire Safety Week (04 May 2026 to 10 May 2026), the Fire Safety Week 2026 was formally concluded on 11 May 2026 at AIIMS Deoghar. On this occasion, prizes were distributed by Dr. (Prof.) Nitin M. Gangane, Executive Director & CEO AIIMS Deoghar, among the winners of the poster-making, quiz and slogan competitions, in recognition of their active participation and valuable contribution towards promoting fire safety awareness, in the presence of the Dean (Academics), Principal, Nursing College, Superintending Engineer, Fire Officer, Administrative Officer, ANS and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO).

A workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was successfully conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Deoghar, on 5th May 2026 in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Nagpur.
The session was delivered by Shri Kumar Raju, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, RGNIIPM, who provided valuable insights into patents, copyrights, trademarks, and innovation protection.

🔥 Fire Safety Week 2026 | Day 7 Activities at AIIMS Deoghar 🔥

Theme: “Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention.”

On 10 May 2026, AIIMS Deoghar conducted an internal fire safety inspection focusing on the Fire Pump Room and electrical panels at the Substation.

The inspection assessed:
✅ Operational readiness of fire pumps and hydrant systems
✅ Accessibility and maintenance status of firefighting equipment
✅ Safety compliance of electrical panels
✅ Insulation, load management and housekeeping standards
✅ Preventive measures to minimize electrical fire risks

This exercise reinforced preparedness, strengthened preventive measures and ensured the highest standards of safety to protect life and property within the institute.
