Hepatitis Day Programme Report
The World Hepatitis Day 2026 programme was observed on 28 July 2026 at the Lisie Hospital Reception, organized by the School of Nursing, Lisie Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Gastroenterology. The programme was conducted under the global theme "Hepatitis: Let's Break It Down," promoting awareness, early diagnosis, and equal access to testing, treatment, and care.
It began with a prayer song by the First Year GNM students, followed by the welcome address by Ms. Josna Ancey. The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Reju Kannampuzha, Executive Director, Lisie Cancer Centre.
An awareness session was delivered by Dr. Arjun R. Gupta, Consultant in Medical Gastroenterology, followed by the felicitation by Dr. Mathew Philip, Head of the Department of Gastroenterology. Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Ambalathingal, Joint Director, Lisie Hospital, distributed prizes to the winners of the poster competition.The programme was graced by Rev. Sr. Renjitha CSN, Principal, School of Nursing, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Karumathy, Spiritual Father, Lisie Hospital.
The programme also featured an awareness skit by the First Year GNM students. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Riona P. R., and the programme concluded with the Lisie Anthem.
The programme was a great success, creating awareness about hepatitis prevention, early testing, and timely treatment while reinforcing the message of World Hepatitis Day 2026.
