Niramaya Card - Complete Guide in English

Niramaya = Health insurance scheme by National Trust, Govt of India. Gives up to ₹1 Lakh coverage per year for medical expenses.

1. Who is Eligible?
Only for 4 disability categories:
1. Autism
2. Cerebral Palsy
3. Intellectual Disability
4. Multiple Disabilities

ADHD, SLD, Learning Disability are NOT covered.

2. Benefits - Up to ₹1,00,000 / Year
Expense Type Coverage Limit

Hospitalization ₹70,000

Surgery for disability ₹40,000 (within above 70k)

OPD + Medicines + Tests ₹14,500

Therapies - OT, PT, Speech ₹10,000

Alternative Medicine ₹4,500

Transportation ₹1,000
You can take treatment at ANY hospital. Pay first, then claim reimbursement.

4. How to Apply - Step by Step
Important: You CANNOT apply directly online. Must go through a Registered Organisation (RO).

Step 1: Find Nearest RO in Erode
District Differently Abled Welfare Office - Collectorate, Erode - 0424-2261471

Step 2: Documents to Carry
1. UDID Card OR Disability Certificate- Original + 2 copies
2. Aadhaar Card - Child + Parent - Original + 2 copies
3. BPL/Ration Card - If BPL, for lower premium
4. Passport size photo - 2 copies of child
5. Bank passbook- First page copy. Child or joint account
6. Cash - ₹250 to ₹1000 for premium

Step 3: RO Will Do This
1. Fill online form on National Trust portal
2. Upload your documents
3. Pay premium online
4. Give you receipt + Application ID

Step 4: Get e-Card
In 15-30 days, National Trust approves. RO will print e-Card and give you. You can also download with Application ID.

5. Important Dates
You can apply anytime. But coverage starts only twice a year:
1. Apply Oct to Feb → Policy starts 1st April
2. Apply Mar to Aug → Policy starts 1st October

Coverage valid till 31st March or 30th Sept.

6. Renewal
1. When:3 months before to 1 month before expiry
2. How:Online yourself OR through RO
3. Premium: Same as new application

7. How to Claim
No cashless. Process:
1. Take treatment, keep all bills + doctor prescription + discharge summary
2. Fill Niramaya Claim Form
3. Send to: ICICI Lombard, Hyderabad
4. Money credited to bank in 30-45 days

Next Step for You:
1. Check disability type: Is it Autism/CP/ID/MD? If yes, you qualify.
2. Pick RO: Erode at 0424-2265044 tomorrow and say "Niramaya card apply pannanum".
3. UDID ready? If no UDID yet, first get Disability Certificate from Erode GH Medical Board.
