Did You Know Why the Appendix Bursts?
Many people think the appendix "just bursts" out of nowhere—but that's not what usually happens.
👉 The appendix can become blocked by hardened stool, swelling, infection, or enlarged lymph tissue.
👉 This blockage traps bacteria inside, causing inflammation and increasing pressure.
👉 If treatment is delayed, blood flow to the appendix can decrease, the tissue can weaken, and eventually it may rupture (burst).
Warning signs of appendicitis:
✔️ Pain that often starts near the belly button and moves to the lower right abdomen
✔️ Nausea or vomiting
✔️ Loss of appetite
✔️ Fever
✔️ Abdominal swelling or tenderness
A burst appendix is a medical emergency because it can spread infection throughout the abdomen.
Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent complications. Never ignore persistent abdominal pain.
