As a therapist and counsellor, I am here to embrace you. The good, bad, messy, silly — all the parts. So many clients come to therapy saying “Fix me!” or “Just help me erase or get rid of these painful memories! “or “Make me better!”, especially when they’ve been struggling with pain from trauma, grief, a break-up, or feeling rejected.

I just want to tell you, I’m not here to FIX you. I’m here to find you. That true self that isn’t afraid, the parts of you that come out when you feel truly safe and valued. It may take some time to get there for many reasons, but, is it worth the journey. You are worth it.

It's really hard to show, to tell, to talk about what we feel and think. It's not easy. Many of us are fighting our own battle and what others see is their smile, the focus is always on the best what others have, what we know is very little about others so before we make any judgment let's remind ourselves that many people try to give there best to all despite dealing with a lot of things. I want you to remember that just because your story has a few bad chapters doesn’t mean you can’t write new ones. Perhaps you need to look at it through a different lens. Those difficult chapters taught you the meaning of healing. They showed you that even after being completely broken you were able to put yourself back together. You survived and you continue to survive every damn day.

We all have an inner critic, a nasty coach that lives inside our heads and seeks any opportunity to criticize us. These “critical inner voices” tend to multiply when we are left alone with our thoughts. The “critical inner voices” tend to be at their worst when we are not only alone but are also feeling lonely and decide to deal with it alone.

• Going through things alone can make you vulnerable
• Going through things alone can lead to painful loneliness
• Going through things alone can depression
• Going through things alone can be bad for your mental health
