He was only 29.
A software engineer.
He sat down... looked at me... and the first thing he asked was:
"Doctor... am I too young for piles?"
Before I could answer, he asked another question.
"Is surgery my only option?"
For the last 3 weeks...
Every visit to the washroom had become a nightmare.
Bleeding.
Pain.
Burning.
He had started delaying going to the toilet because he was afraid of the pain.
Then he told me something that changed the whole picture.
"I've been constipated for as long as I can remember."
Not for weeks.
Not for months.
For years.
Everyone around him was talking about surgery.
But no one had asked...
"Why is he constipated in the first place?"
After examining him, I explained something many people don't know.
🚨 Not every patient with piles needs surgery.
The right treatment depends on the stage and severity of the disease.
For many people with piles, improving bowel habits, treating constipation, eating a high-fiber diet, staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged straining, taking warm sitz baths, and appropriate medical treatment may help control symptoms.
Ignoring constipation while only treating piles...
Is like mopping the floor while the tap is still running.
Sometimes...
The real treatment starts with fixing the cause.
❤️ If you have bleeding while passing stool, severe pain, or a lump near the a**s, don't ignore it or self-medicate.
Get evaluated early.
