Many moms-to-be find it uncomfortable, but this simple test plays a very important role in detecting Gestational Diabetes, especially between 24–28 weeks of pregnancy.

To make the experience easier:

Get a good night’s sleep before the test.

Drink the glucose solution slowly over a few minutes, not all at once.

Having it chilled can make it easier to tolerate.

After drinking it, avoid eating, sleeping, or doing heavy exercise until the next blood sample is taken.

If you’re prone to nausea or vomiting, speak to your doctor about taking an anti-vomiting medication beforehand.

This test may not be anyone’s favorite, but it helps ensure a healthier pregnancy for both you and your baby. 🌸

I recently visited a small clinic in Africa, and what I saw surprised me.

Simple walls. Powerful lessons about women’s health.

Their walls weren’t covered with expensive advertisements.
They were covered with simple posters educating women about cervical cancer, HPV vaccination, contraception, and preventive healthcare.

Sometimes, awareness is the first step toward saving lives. 💙

This poster caught my attention because it talks about something many women have never even heard of—HPV self-testing.

HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer. Yet, early detection can make a huge difference.

In many countries, women can collect a vaginal sample themselves in privacy, which is then tested for high-risk HPV. It’s a simple, dignified option for women who feel uncomfortable with pelvic exams, live far from healthcare facilities, or face barriers to regular screening.

Sometimes, awareness is the first step toward prevention. Every woman deserves to know that options like this exist. 💙



Imagine preventing cancer with a simple vaccine.

The HPV vaccine protects against the virus that causes almost all cervical cancers. It’s most effective when given between 9–14 years, but many older adolescents and adults can still benefit.
