🚨 H1N1 / Flu cases are rising — parents, please stay alert.
Influenza can cause high fever, cough, sore throat, body ache, extreme tiredness and sometimes vomiting or loose stools in children. Watch especially for red flags like difficulty breathing, chest retractions, bluish lips, dehydration, unusual sleepiness or a child who is getting worse.
💊 Remember: Antibiotics do NOT treat influenza. Antiviral medicines such as oseltamivir may be advised by your doctor in selected severe or high-risk cases.
💉 And check your child’s flu vaccination status.
Influenza vaccination can start from 6 months of age and is recommended every year for eligible children. Taking the vaccine last year does not mean you should automatically skip it this year.
📌 Parents : check whether your child’s 2026 annual flu vaccine is due with your pediatrician.
Don’t panic. Recognise the symptoms, know the red flags and be prepared.
