Feeling truly grateful to share that all three initiatives I am associated with have received the Appreciation for contribution in Autism Awareness in North Eastern region of the county.
This recognition belongs to the entire team. I am thankful for the opportunity to contribute and deeply appreciate the encouragement and acknowledgement.
The Department of Pediatrics and CDEIC at AIIMS Guwahati continue to set meaningful milestones in Autism Awareness and Intervention in the Northeast, and I feel fortunate to be a small part of this journey.
The award for providing excellent services to persons with ASD was received on behalf of Team Sambhav, Prosesta, and Vriddhi 🙏
It was also a wonderful opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from brilliant minds working in this field.
Grateful to be a part of the Northeast autism support community.

Why toddlers behave differently in public ?
1. Temperament
• Some toddlers are born more cautious/shy.
• Studies show inhibited toddlers withdraw in new social settings.
2. Stranger Anxiety / Separation Anxiety
• Peaks around 8–24 months.
• Unfamiliar faces + new places trigger fear responses.
3.Research shows toddlers focus more on fearful/angry faces.
• Public environments feel “unsafe,” so they freeze or cling.
4. Overstimulation
• Noise, crowds, new smells, new routines → sensory overload.
• Toddlers shut down to cope.
5. Attachment Need
• When unsure, toddlers seek the safest anchor: the parent’s leg.
• Clinging is a natural safety-seeking behaviour.
6. Context Sensitivity
• Home = predictable.
• Outside = unpredictable → triggers cautious behaviour.
7. Fear of Social Demand
• When adults expect a greeting, toddlers feel pressure.
• Pressure increases anxiety → they withdraw more.
How can you help ?
No pressure, less prompting and by giving time to settle down !!

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Sunil Sir for inviting me as a resource person on World Cerebral Palsy Day at CRC Guwahati. It was a privilege to be part of such a meaningful event and to contribute to raising awareness and fostering inclusion for individuals with cerebral palsy.
World Cerebral Palsy Day 2025: the theme for this year was “Unique and United” .
World Cerebral Palsy Day, celebrated annually on October 6, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about cerebral palsy (CP) and advocating for the rights of those affected by the condition.
On this day, various national and international organisations come together and organize education and outreach drives, sessions, conferences, workshops and social events to educate people about cerebral palsy prevention as well as support.

Your voice was the soundtrack of our childhood, teenage love, first crush, first love , heart breaks, highs , lows, celebrations, mournings, lift us up o leave alone - everything ,, carrying through more than three decades of life’s moments.
You were our emotion.
We got angry with you when you said silly things, next moment we would be talking “but no one has a pure heart as Zubeen.” You helped people ,with money, with reference and everyone else with your music.
You were part of us.
Though you’re gone, your music will forever live in our hearts. Rest in peace.
