Today is the 7th day of the 7th month, and it is Kalashtami, a beautiful day to offer your prayers to Bhairav Baba. If you feel drawn to his energy, you can perform a very simple puja at home. Light two four-faced diyas (charmukhi diyas) or eight separate diyas with red wicks and mustard oil in the evening. Keep a picture of Bhairav Baba. If you don't have one, you can simply download an image from the internet. Chant "Om Bhairavaya Namah" 108 times. If you use a j*p mala, a rudraksha mala is ideal.

You may offer bhog such as jaggery, jalebi, kala jamun, or, if it aligns with your personal tradition, a boiled egg. After the puja, you may consume the prasad or offer the boiled egg to a black dog. Feeding stray dogs, especially black dogs, is considered an act of devotion associated with Bhairav Baba, and it's a wonderful practice on any day. Pray for protection, courage, and the removal of obstacles. Bhairav Baba, the fierce and compassionate form of Shiva, is revered as a powerful guardian. If you feel a deep connection with Maa Kali, worshipping Bhairav Baba can also be especially meaningful. Let me know in the comments if you'll be observing Kalashtami today.
