Stroke is increasingly affecting younger adults in India, and delayed treatment continues to be one of the biggest reasons for disability and poor recovery.

Many people ignore early warning signs such as:
• Sudden weakness in the arm or leg
• Facial drooping
• Speech difficulty
• Severe dizziness or imbalance
• Sudden confusion or blackout

But during a stroke, every minute matters.

Early recognition of symptoms and reaching the hospital quickly can significantly improve recovery outcomes and help reduce long-term brain damage.

Remember the FAST signs of stroke:
F – Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S – Speech difficulty
T – Time to act

Awareness and timely action can save brain function and sometimes even save a life.

When back pain starts affecting your ability to walk, timely treatment becomes critical.

Mr. Manish Sahu from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, visited us at AIG Hospitals after suffering from severe lower back pain along with continuous pain radiating to his left leg. The discomfort had become so intense that even walking properly was becoming difficult for him.

After detailed evaluation, MRI investigations, and clinical assessment, we identified the underlying issue and advised surgery as the best course of treatment.

What makes his recovery journey remarkable is this:
His surgery was performed yesterday, and today, he is already walking comfortably, sitting easily, and feeling relieved from the pain that had affected his daily life.

Advancements in modern spine surgery are helping patients recover faster, experience less postoperative discomfort, and regain mobility much earlier than before.

Every successful recovery reminds us that early diagnosis, the right treatment plan, and patient trust together create the best outcomes.

Wishing Mr. Manish continued strength, health, and a smooth recovery ahead.

“8 years of severe pain… and today, I am finally recovering well.” 🙏

These are the words from the patient we treated recently.

Mr. Ankush Gokhale from Karnataka came to AIG Hospitals after struggling with severe hip pain for nearly 8 years. After evaluating his condition and reports in detail, we explained the importance of timely surgical intervention to prevent further complications.

After careful consideration, he underwent surgery with our team, and I’m happy to share that the procedure was successful, and he is now recovering in good condition.

Stories like these remind us why early diagnosis and timely treatment matter so much. Thankful for the trust placed in us throughout this journey.

Wishing Mr. Ankush continued recovery, strength, and a pain-free life ahead.

“When other doctors said the surgery was too risky… he chose to trust me.”

This patient came from Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad for work. Unfortunately, he met with a serious accident after an iron rod fell on him, causing severe injuries to his hands and legs.

After consulting multiple doctors, he was told the surgery was extremely difficult and risky to perform. Eventually, he came to AIG Hospitals and consulted me for treatment.

Following successful spine surgery, his recovery has been remarkable:
✔ No shoulder pain
✔ No arm pain
✔ Walking comfortably again
✔ Able to manage daily activities independently
✔ Even riding his bike now

Patient recovery stories like these remind me why timely treatment and the right surgical care matter so much.

Many neurological and spine conditions begin with symptoms that people often ignore for weeks or even months.

Persistent back pain, numbness, weakness in the hands or legs, severe headaches, dizziness, imbalance, seizures, sciatica, or bladder changes may sometimes indicate underlying problems involving the brain, spine, or nerves.

While not every symptom is serious, certain warning signs should never be neglected, especially when they continue to worsen or affect daily life.

Early diagnosis and timely treatment can help prevent complications and improve recovery outcomes in many neurological and spine conditions.

In this post, I’ve shared some important warning signs that may require evaluation by a neurosurgeon.

Listen to your body. Seeking medical advice at the right time can make a significant difference.

Honored and delighted to have participated in UBE-CON 2026 conducted by Max Hospitals, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali, New Delhi. ☤

It was a privilege to contribute to the conference through:
A guest lecture
Chairing scientific sessions
Participating in panel discussions

Conferences like these are invaluable platforms for sharing knowledge, discussing evolving surgical techniques, and learning from one another.

Medicine, especially spine surgery and neuroscience, continues to evolve rapidly. Academic gatherings such as UBE-CON play an important role in helping specialists stay updated, exchange ideas, and collectively work toward better patient outcomes.

I truly enjoyed interacting with colleagues, seniors, juniors, and fellow specialists from across the country.

My sincere thanks to Dr. Gaurav Bansal and his team for their warm hospitality and kind invitation.

Looking forward to continued learning, collaboration, and advancing the future of spine care together.

Did you know some brain surgeries are performed while the patient is awake?

This advanced procedure is called 'Awake Craniotomy.'

During the surgery, the patient remains conscious so the neurosurgical team can continuously monitor the following:
Speech
Understanding
Hand & leg movements
Brain function in real time

This procedure helps improve surgical precision while protecting critical brain functions.

Modern neurosurgery is not just about removing a problem, it’s about preserving quality of life.
