🌟 RAISE THEM RIGHT 🌟

In this series, we’ll explore the four classical parenting styles and their impact on children. These styles are:

1. Authoritarian
2. Permissive
3. Uninvolved
4. Authoritative

Today, let’s focus on Authoritarian Parenting.

AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING

This style is marked by a rigid, strict “Because I told you so” attitude.

Let’s look at a common scenario to see how an authoritarian parent reacts:

Scenario: Your child’s television time is over, but they don’t want to stop watching and start throwing a tantrum. 📺😡

What would an authoritarian parent do?
The parent would immediately switch off the TV. As the child starts crying, the parent would likely get frustrated, yell, or try to scare the child into submission. In some cases, they may even resort to hitting the child. 😠

LONG-TERM IMPACT:
Children raised under this parenting style may develop one of two distinct personality traits:

1. The Anxious People-Pleaser 😔: They grow up constantly seeking external validation. When faced with hostility or criticism, they often become anxious or depressed and struggle to cope.

2. The Rebellious Individual 🚫: After enduring strict control, they may rebel against authority once they escape that environment, challenging everything and everyone they encounter.

In conclusion, it’s important to avoid becoming the kind of parent whose approach is “Do as I say, or else you’ll be yelled at or punished.” Let’s aim for a more balanced approach that fosters growth and confidence in our children. 🌱

🩸 IRON: THE GOLD FOR YOUR KIDS 🩸

In conclusion to our iron series, today’s post focuses on ways to prevent iron deficiency anemia and highlights iron-rich foods for your child’s diet.

Prevention Tips:
1. Avoid cow’s milk in the first year of life and limit intake to 300-400 ml after that. 🍼
2. From 6 months onwards, when introducing complementary foods, include iron-rich foods in your baby’s diet. 🍽️

Iron Sources:
Non-vegetarian iron (ferric form) is better absorbed than vegetarian iron (ferrous form). 🍖
Pairing iron-rich foods with vitamin C 🍊 improves absorption, while combining them with calcium 🥛 reduces absorption of both nutrients.

Tip: Give calcium-rich foods (milk, curd) 2-3 hours after iron-rich meals for optimal absorption. ⏳

Top Iron-Rich Foods to Include Daily:
🦴 Non-Vegetarian Sources:
1. Bone marrow
2. Minced liver (kaleji)
3. Minced meat (kheema)
🥬 Vegetarian Sources:
1. Dates 🌴
2. Figs 🍇
3. Jaggery 🍯
4. Green leafy vegetables 🥬

Try to include a balanced mix of these foods in your child’s meals early on to help prevent iron deficiency and support their growth! 💪👶
