Revision ACL surgeries can give excellent results.
Don’t believe the myth that they don’t do well.

With the right surgical planning, proper technique, and dedicated rehabilitation — revision ACL surgeries can have EXCELLENT outcomes.

I recently operated on a patient who had a failed ACL reconstruction done elsewhere. The knee was unstable, confidence was low, and the patient was worried that sports and normal activity would never be possible again.

But today, with structured physiotherapy and proper recovery, the patient is doing extremely well.

What most people don’t realise is that revision ACL surgery is completely different from a primary ACL reconstruction.

A revision surgery is technically far more demanding because the surgeon has to evaluate:
• Previous tunnel position
• Tunnel widening
• Graft failure pattern
• Meniscus and cartilage status
• Alignment issues
• Associated ligament injuries
• Choice of graft for revision
• Whether a single-stage or two-stage revision is required

This is why surgeon experience matters tremendously in revision cases.

A well-trained revision ACL surgeon understands not only how to reconstruct the ligament again, but also WHY the first surgery failed in the first place. Unless the root cause is addressed, failure can happen again.

But surgery alone is NOT enough.

The second pillar of success is physiotherapy.

Even the best ACL surgery can fail if rehabilitation is poor.

A good physiotherapist helps with:
• Regaining knee motion
• Reducing swelling and stiffness
• Strengthening quadriceps and hamstrings
• Balance and proprioception training
• Sport-specific rehabilitation
• Safe return to running and sports

Recovery after revision ACL surgery requires patience, discipline, and teamwork between the surgeon, physiotherapist, and patient.

So no — revision ACL surgery is NOT a dead end.

When done correctly, with the right surgical expertise and committed rehabilitation, patients can return to walking, gym training, sports, and an active lifestyle with confidence again.

A robot does not perform your surgery. Your surgeon does.

Technology is a tool — and like any tool, its effectiveness depends entirely on the hands using it. Surgical judgment, experience, soft tissue balancing, handling unexpected intraoperative findings, and decision-making in complex anatomy come from years of expertise… not from the machine.

Equally important — surgery is only one part of the journey.

The best implant, perfect alignment, and the most advanced robotic assistance mean little without committed rehabilitation. Physiotherapy is what converts a technically successful surgery into a functionally successful recovery. Strength, motion, gait retraining, confidence, stair climbing, balance — these are earned in rehab, not installed in the operating room.

So what truly makes a great joint replacement outcome?

✅ The right patient selection
✅ An experienced surgeon
✅ Appropriate technology used wisely
✅ Dedicated physiotherapy and rehabilitation
✅ Patient commitment to recovery

Robotic surgery can enhance precision. Surgeon experience ensures the right decisions. Physiotherapy brings the new joint to life.

Joint replacement is teamwork — not just technology.

Busting the myth that Revision ACL and Meniscus Root Repairs don't heal well! 🛑🧢

There is a huge misconception out there that a revision ACL surgery combined with a complex meniscus root repair means giving up on your active lifestyle. That couldn’t be further from the truth!

With the right surgical technique, a structured rehabilitation protocol, and a highly dedicated patient, exceptional results are absolutely possible. Just look at the incredible progress, strength, and mobility my patient is showing here.

Recovery takes patience, consistency, and grit, but the comeback is always stronger than the setback.

Don’t let outdated myths dictate your recovery journey! 💪

You may not have heard of the quadriceps tendon…
But you use it every single day.

👉 It is a strong band just above your kneecap
👉 It helps your thigh muscles straighten your leg

Because of this small structure, you can:
✔️ Walk
✔️ Climb stairs
✔️ Get up from a chair
✔️ Kick a ball
✔️ Stand without your knee giving way

Now imagine if this tendon tears…

❗ You won’t be able to straighten your knee
❗ Getting up or walking becomes very difficult
❗ Even simple daily activities feel impossible

That’s how important it is.

💡 So if after a fall or injury you are unable to lift your leg straight — don’t ignore it.

Early treatment can bring you back to normal life.

Your body works quietly for you every day…
Take care of it.

Surgery fixes. Physiotherapy restores. Together, we transform.

As surgeons, we repair tissues — tendons, ligaments, joints.
But without the right rehab, even the best surgery can fall short.

This is where physiotherapists make all the difference 👇

After a successful surgery, physiotherapy helps:
✔️ Restore range of motion
✔️ Rebuild muscle strength
✔️ Improve joint stability & control
✔️ Prevent stiffness and complications
✔️ Bring back confidence in movement

And most importantly…
👉 It converts a “technically successful surgery” into a functionally successful outcome

The truth is —
Surgery + Physiotherapy = Real Recovery

I’ve seen it time and again:
Two identical surgeries, two very different outcomes — all because of the quality of rehabilitation.

So here’s a shoutout to physiotherapists team who helped me with my patient 🙌
You don’t just assist recovery,
You complete the treatment.

Some injuries look small from outside… but can completely stop a person from even straightening their knee.

This patient came to me with a quadriceps tendon tear — unable to lift his leg, unable to walk properly, and in significant pain. Simple things like getting up from a chair had become a struggle.

After proper evaluation, we proceeded with surgical repair of the quadriceps tendon, restoring the continuity of the extensor mechanism — the most important system for knee function.

But surgery is only half the journey.

The real transformation happens with disciplined rehabilitation.

Over the next 2 months:
✔️ Gradual mobilization
✔️ Supervised physiotherapy
✔️ Muscle strengthening
✔️ Patient compliance

And today…

✅ Full range of motion achieved
✅ Walking without pain
✅ No brace support needed
✅ Confidence restored

This is what timely diagnosis + proper repair + structured physiotherapy can achieve.

Many people ignore knee injuries thinking it’s just a strain — but a missed quadriceps tendon tear can lead to long-term disability.

👉 If you or someone you know is unable to straighten the knee after injury — don’t ignore it.

Early treatment makes all the difference.

Preserve the Joint Before You Replace It!

In undisplaced femoral neck fractures, the priority should always be preserving the native hip joint whenever possible.

With early diagnosis and timely surgical fixation, the femoral head can often be saved, avoiding the need for arthroplasty.

Why is this important?

• The native hip has superior biomechanics
• It preserves bone stock for the future
• Patients can maintain more natural joint function

This is where modern implants like the AO Femoral Neck System play an important role.

The FNS provides stable fixation, rotational control, and controlled compression, helping surgeons preserve the femoral head in selected cases of undisplaced fractures.

The key is early diagnosis.

Missed fractures can displace later and convert a joint-preserving situation into a joint-replacement surgery.

Orthopaedic principle:
Preserve the joint whenever possible. Replace it only when necessary.

Across oceans and borders, trust remains the foundation of patient care. 🌍

When she presented to us from Mauritius, she was experiencing advanced knee osteoarthritis with persistent pain and significant functional limitation. Activities of daily living — walking, standing for longer durations, and routine household tasks — had become progressively difficult.

Travelling internationally for surgery is a significant decision and reflects the confidence patients place in structured, evidence-based orthopaedic care.

Following comprehensive clinical evaluation, radiographic assessment, and detailed counselling regarding both operative and non-operative options, we proceeded with a Stryker robotic-assisted Total Knee Replacement.

Robotic-assisted arthroplasty enables patient-specific pre-operative planning, real-time intraoperative assessment, precise bone resections, and accurate implant positioning. The objective is optimal limb alignment, balanced soft tissues, and reproducible outcomes while preserving bone stock. Precision and consistency remain central to contemporary knee replacement surgery.

Her early post-operative recovery is progressing satisfactorily, supported by multimodal pain management and a structured rehabilitation protocol.

Wishing her a steady recovery and continued progress toward independent, pain-free mobility.

Sunday didn’t feel like just another day. It felt like a quiet reminder of why I chose this path.

As a sports injury specialist at , this Sunday—08/02/26—we had the privilege of being the Medical Care Partners for the Thane Half Marathon. From the early hours, the energy was different. Electric. Purposeful.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the scale of the event, but the people. Thousands of inspiring souls—each carrying a different story, a different struggle, a different reason for running. Watching them push through pain, fatigue, and self-doubt was a powerful reminder of what the human spirit is capable of when it refuses to give up.

Then came a moment I’ll probably never forget. Standing on stage for prize distribution, sharing that space with Jigna ma’am, , and —people who’ve inspired generations to move, stay fit, and believe—felt surreal. Some Sundays really do surprise you.

But the most special moment came quietly. One of my operative patient’s fathers walked up to me and placed his 21K marathon medal around my neck. No speeches. No applause. Just gratitude. In that instant, everything came full circle—the surgeries, the rehab, the long conversations about recovery, patience, and hope. That medal wasn’t just metal. It was trust. It was belief. It was a shared victory.

As I drove back home—tired, but deeply fulfilled—I realised this is what makes it all worth it.

The medicine.
The movement.
The moments.

Couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday. 🏃‍♂️✨
