Marriage is one of the greatest blessings Allah can grant a believer, but it is also one of life's greatest responsibilities. Anyone who tells you that marriage is easy is not telling the whole truth. Every marriage will experience moments of joy and moments of hardship.
There will be days of laughter and days of tears. There will be times when you understand each other perfectly and times when misunderstandings arise.
The difference between a successful marriage and a failed one is not the absence of problems; it is the willingness of both husband and wife to face those problems together with patience, mercy, and the fear of Allah.
The right spouse is not someone who never makes mistakes. Rather, the right spouse is someone who fears Allah, accepts correction, forgives sincerely, and remains committed even when life becomes difficult. They choose the relationship over their ego and seek solutions instead of excuses.
Marriage requires sacrifice. It requires communication, trust, respect, forgiveness, and continuous effort. Sometimes you will have to apologize even when your pride tells you not to.
Sometimes you will have to be patient when your emotions want you to react. Sometimes you will have to overlook small faults to preserve a greater blessing.
Allah says:
"And live with them in kindness." (Qur'an 4:19)
He also says:
"And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy." (Qur'an 30:21)
Notice that Allah did not promise a marriage without trials. Instead, He promised affection (mawaddah) and mercy (rahmah), qualities that become most valuable during difficult times.
Every lasting marriage has survived disagreements, disappointments, financial challenges, family pressures, sickness, and moments of weakness. Couples who remain together are not those who never faced storms; they are those who refused to abandon the ship when the storm came.
If you have married someone who sincerely fears Allah, respects you, strives to fulfil your rights, and is willing to grow with you, then do not throw away your marriage because of temporary difficulties. Work together. Pray together. Seek Allah's help together.
Remember that every hardship faced with patience and sincerity can become a means of earning Allah's pleasure.
A beautiful marriage is not built in a day. It is built through years of patience, sacrifice, forgiveness, understanding, and sincere love for the sake of Allah.
When two hearts are united by faith, guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah, and committed to pleasing Allah, even the hardest days become worth enduring.
May Almighty Allah bless our marriage and ease all our affairs Bi'znillah Tahallah 🤲
