Physio Tips: Is it "good pain" or a workout injury? 🛑 Here is how to tell.
Ever finished a workout, felt an ache, and wondered: "Is this normal muscle soreness, or did I actually hurt myself?"
As a physical therapist, I see people mistake injury for progress all the time. Learning how to listen to your body can save you months of rehab.
Here is your quick Good Pain vs. Bad Pain cheat sheet:
🟢 GOOD PAIN (DOMS): General muscle soreness, a dull ache, starts 24-48 hours post-workout. It means your muscles are adapting and getting stronger!
🔴 BAD PAIN (Injury): Sharp, shooting, or stabbing pain. Sudden onset, localized to a joint or tendon, or accompanied by swelling. If it makes you wince or limp, stop immediately.
