IS DIET IMPORTANT IN LPP?

Yes. 💚

Diet is not a cure for Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (LPP), but it supports your body’s healing process.

Your body is naturally designed to heal. But when you continuously consume highly processed foods, excess sugar, and other inflammatory foods, your system has to spend its energy dealing with that outside inflammatory burden.

Instead of focusing entirely on healing the underlying inflammation associated with LPP, your body is constantly trying to manage the inflammation created by your daily food choices.

A balanced, nutrient-rich diet helps reduce this burden and creates a better environment for your body to heal.

✨ Diet doesn’t cure LPP—it helps your body heal more efficiently.
✨ The right treatment + the right diet + patience = the best chance for recovery.

💬 Have questions about LPP? Leave them in the comments, and I’ll answer them in upcoming videos.

Thank you for sharing your testimonial and for trusting me with your LPP treatment.

LPP is curable with my treatment, but it requires time, patience, and consistency. Most patients need around 24 months because we are correcting the underlying autoimmune process, not just fading the pigmentation.

Healing cannot be rushed.
You cannot expect results in a few weeks or even a few months. If you keep looking for instant results, you will only become disappointed. Every day you stay consistent is an investment in your recovery.

Waiting is not wasting time—it is part of the treatment.

Don’t stop your treatment because progress seems slow. Don’t compare your journey with someone else’s. The body heals at its own pace, and the skin improves only after the internal healing begins.

Be patient. Stay disciplined. Trust the process. The patients who wait, stay consistent, and complete the full course are the ones who achieve lasting results.

If you have LPP, avoid self-prescribing supplements.

Some people with LPP may notice worsening pigmentation after using Herbalife products or omega-3 fish oil. If you notice your pigmentation increasing after starting any supplement, stop it and consult your doctor.

Not every supplement is suitable for everyone with LPP.

Not all dark pigmentation is the same. If you’re treating every dark patch with a fairness cream, you may be making it worse.”
There are different types of pigmentation, and each one needs a different approach.
1. LPP (Lichen Planus Pigmentosus):
An autoimmune skin condition that causes dark brown to grayish patches, usually on the face, neck, and body. It may be triggered by hair dye, fragrances, sun exposure, or inflammation. This condition needs proper medical evaluation and treatment.
2. Macular Amyloidosis:
Looks like rippled or dotted brown pigmentation, commonly on the upper back and arms. It is often associated with repeated friction, scratching, or rubbing of the skin.
3. Acanthosis Nigricans:
Dark, thick, velvety skin, especially around the neck, underarms, and groin. It is commonly linked to insulin resistance, obesity, or hormonal disorders. Treating the underlying cause is important.
4. Ashy Dermatosis (EDP – Erythema Dyschromicum Perstans):
Grayish-blue or ash-colored patches that gradually spread on the body. The exact cause is not fully understood, and it can resemble LPP, so an accurate diagnosis is essential.
Every pigmentation has a different cause. Don’t self-diagnose or blindly use whitening creams. Get the right diagnosis first, then start the right treatment.

⚠️ A simple tan became stubborn pigmentation.

Today, a patient came with a mild tan. Someone advised her to apply alum stone (phitkari) on her face.

Within minutes she experienced burning and redness. Later, the skin turned dark, and it triggered Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (LPP)-like pigmentation.

❌ Not every home remedy is safe.
❌ Not every skin reacts the same way.

If your skin burns or becomes irritated after applying anything, stop using it immediately and consult a qualified doctor.

Think twice before trying viral or random home remedies. Your skin deserves expert care.

A small reminder before you try the next “brightening” cream…

Today, a young girl came to our clinic with severe pigmentation on her face and neck.

When I asked what she had been using, she said she applied a brightening moisturizer and then went out in the sun. Soon after, she experienced itching, burning, and redness. As the inflammation settled, it left behind dark pigmentation.

This doesn’t happen to everyone, but people with sensitive or reactive skin are at a higher risk. In some individuals, irritation and inflammation can trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and in susceptible people, it may even unmask or worsen conditions such as Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (LPP).

A product that works for someone else may not be right for your skin.

Before using any brightening or skin-lightening product:
• Always do a patch test.
• Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.
• Stop using the product immediately if you experience burning, itching, or redness.
• If pigmentation develops after irritation, consult a qualified dermatologist or skin specialist instead of trying more creams.
