Mitral Valve Repair Without Open-Heart Surgery (Mitral Clip / MyClip)

Some people develop a leakage in one of the heart valves called the mitral valve. Because of this leak, blood flows backward, causing breathlessness, fatigue, and repeated hospital admissions.

For many older or high-risk patients, open-heart surgery may be risky.

For such patients, we now have a minimally invasive option:

💡 What is the Mitral Clip / MyClip procedure?
• No big chest cut.
• The doctor enters through a vein in the leg using a thin tube (catheter).
• A small clip is attached to the leaking valve inside the heart.
• This helps the valve close better so that less blood leaks backward.

First ever transcatheter, pulmonary valve replacement at our centre.

19-year-old post-truncus repair (13-mm RVOT homograft) with severe calcified RVOT stenosis/PR and LV pseudoaneurysm (RCC–LCC junction) successfully treated in a single sitting with Melody transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement + Konar-MFO pseudoaneurysm closure—a rare combination with limited literature.

Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement is a minimally invasive catheter-based procedure to replace a diseased pulmonary valve/right ventricular outflow tract conduit without redo open-heart surgery, helping relieve obstruction and reduce pulmonary regurgitation. This was among the first such procedures performed in our program, and Yashoda Hospitals continues to advance as a dedicated centre for complex structural heart interventions.
