PSA high? Don’t panic. Understand what it really means first.

Dr. Sanjai Kumar Addla explains why a PSA test is prostate-specific - not cancer-specific.

PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) is a blood test used since the 1980s, and today doctors rely on age-specific PSA values, especially in Indian patients where normal ranges differ by age.

An elevated PSA doesn’t confirm cancer.
It simply signals that the prostate needs further evaluation like MRI, biopsy, or PET-CT.

PSA is the starting point, not the diagnosis.
