A one-day “masterclass” cannot replace years of recognised medical training.

When unregulated training enables individuals to offer IV infusions, injectable weight-loss medications or unapproved peptides, the consequences can extend far beyond professional boundaries.

⚠️ Patient harm
🦠 Infections and antimicrobial resistance
💊 Unproven therapies
⚖️ Practice beyond legal scope
🩺 Erosion of trust in medicine

This is why regulatory action matters.

The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) took action by raising concerns about unauthorised training programmes and practices, contributing to regulatory intervention against illegal training.

Recognised training is not optional.
Patient safety is not negotiable.
Medicine must remain evidence-based, ethical and within the law.

A young woman has tragically died after receiving a NAD+ drip. The exact cause of death remains under investigation—and we must not speculate beyond the facts.
But this case raises an important question: Who is qualified to perform medical procedures?
As the lines between wellness, aesthetics and medicine increasingly overlap, please:
🔹 Ask questions.
🔹 Verify credentials.
🔹 Don’t mistake a white coat, medical jargon, certificates or social-media popularity for medical qualification.
And to my colleagues in medicine: we must stop normalising unethical practice simply because it is profitable or popular.
Patient safety must come before aesthetics.
Evidence must come before hype.
Qualifications must come before marketing.

Glad to see this issue getting the attention it deserves.
We've been consistently advocating against irrational steroid cream use. Awareness, regulation, and timely consultation with qualified dermatologists are essential to protect patients.

JUNK JUNK FOOD ADS ! ⚠️

Obesity is no longer just a number on the scale. It is not a cosmetic concern. It is a chronic disease…
As a dermatologist, I see its effects every day—in children and adults alike.
Acne. Hair loss. Darkened necks. PCOS. Psoriasis. Eczema.
If we can ban ads for alcohol and ci******es, why not junk these?

Fairness in a tube? Or steroids in disguise?

If you don't know what's inside the cream, don't put it on your skin. Many fairness creams without proper ingredient lists or manufacturer details may contain hidden steroids.

They may give a temporary glow, but prolonged use can damage your skin and even lead to steroid dependence.

Choose informed skincare over quick fixes. When in doubt, consult a qualified dermatologist.

🚫 STOP OILING YOUR SCALP !

One of the most common pieces of advice passed down for generations may actually be making your dandruff worse !

Dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis are linked to Malassezia, a yeast that thrives on scalp lipids. Oiling can create a more favorable environment for its proliferation, leading to increased flaking, itching, inflammation and even hair shedding.

❌ More oil is not the solution.
✅ A healthy scalp is.

Hair doesn’t need old wives’ tales—it needs the right diagnosis and evidence-based treatment.

The dark side of influencer marketing isn't influence. It's undisclosed influence.

When recommendations are driven by sponsorships rather than evidence, trust becomes a product.

Patients deserve transparency. Doctors deserve accountability. Science deserves better.

⚠️ A landmark clarification from CDSCO that every aesthetic practitioner and patient should know.

The CDSCO has explicitly stated that products supplied in injectable form do not fall under the legal definition of cosmetics. Furthermore, cosmetics are not permitted to be administered through injections by consumers, professionals, or aesthetic clinics.

In aesthetic medicine, patients deserve complete transparency about what is being injected, the evidence supporting its use, and its regulatory status. Just like in all other fields of medicine.

Ask what is being injected. Ask why. Ask for the evidence. Because every injection is a medical procedure—not a beauty product. Ask why it is being advertised. Because, unlike cosmetics, medicines should not be advertised!

Steroid–antifungal combination creams may give quick relief, but they often worsen fungal infections and can make them harder—or even impossible—to cure. Topical steroids are now Schedule H prescription drugs, following an IADVL PIL. Used rationally and under guidance, they are valuable medicines. If a cream carries a red box warning, do not use it without a prescription from a Registered Medical Practitioner registered with the National Medical Commission.

Not everyone with a skin clinic is a dermatologist. ⚠️

Your skin deserves expertise, not experiments.
Before a consultation or a procedure, check if the treatment provider is a
🩺 qualified dermatologist ?
Wait for the answer.
Check. Verify. Confirm. 🔍
Cross-check the registration number using AI/ a search engine and verify it with the official medical register. ✅
A registration number matters more than fancy ads

And remember that a COSMETOLOGIST=BEAUTICIAN

Don’t leave it to chance❌

Trust only a "dermatologist" for your skin and hair concerns.
