BABINA Institute of Nursing organised the first day of a two-day National Conference on “Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Education: Transforming Teaching, Learning & Clinical Practice” on 12 October at the BM Auditorium.
The inaugural programme was graced by Prof. Aribam Jamuna Devi, Registrar of the Manipur Nursing Council, Lamphelpat, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Hanjabam Shukhdeba Sharma, Director, CDC, Manipur University, as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Thangjam Dhabali Singh, CMD of Babina Group of Companies, presided over the function, while Dr. Thoudam Kheroda Devi, Principal of BABINA Institute of Nursing, served as the Organising Chairperson.
The conference featured expert sessions exploring the role of artificial intelligence in nursing education and clinical practice. Topics included “Introduction of AI in Nursing Education: Opportunities and Challenges,” presented by Prof. A. Jamuna Devi, and “AI-Enabled Nursing: From Documentation Burden to Intelligent Bedside Care,” presented by Dr. Thokchom Nirod Kumar, Consultant, Transformative Growth, Babina Healthcare Group, Imphal.
Further academic sessions explored the transformation of traditional learning into smart learning, AI literacy and faculty empowerment, and the integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare education and training. Dr. Aparna Pandey, Professor-cum-Principal, College of Nursing, Autonomous State Medical College, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, delivered an online session on “Transforming Traditional Learning into Smart Learning,” highlighting the evolving role of technology in modern nursing education.
The day's programme concluded with a vote of thanks and valedictory session, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in nursing education, teaching methodologies and clinical practice.
