We are delighted to share the successful completion of 10 free eye surgeries at Shija Eye Care Foundation, for patients referred from the Nambol Vision Centre following the Comprehensive Eye Check-up Camp held on 25th July 2026.

7 Cataract (Ngoudong) Surgeries
3 Pterygium (Mitprang Kakhatpa) Surgeries
Total: 10 Patients Successfully Operated

The surgeries were provided free of cost under PM-JAY and NPCB, ensuring that quality eye care remains accessible to patients in need.

This initiative reflects our continued commitment to bringing comprehensive eye care closer to the community and helping prevent avoidable blindness.

2-Day School Eye Screening Camp at Little Flower School

Shija Eye Care Foundation successfully conducted a two-day School Eye Screening Camp at Little Flower School on 28th & 29th July 2026, focusing on early detection of vision problems among students.

Shija Eye Care Foundation conducted a Free Eye Check-up Camp in Kangmong

Imphal, 25 July 2026: Shija Eye Care Foundation, in collaboration with NPCB & VI (Manipur Chapter), Wen Giving Foundation, Mission for Vision, and Kangmong Langoijam Youth Guidance Club, organized a one-day Free Comprehensive Eye Check-up Camp at Langoijam Kangjeibung LP School, Kangmong, Bishnupur District, on 25 July 2026.

A total of 148 patients were screened during the camp. The screening identified 13 cataract cases, 12 pterygium cases, and one ptosis case. Fourteen patients requiring further evaluation and treatment were referred to Shija Hospital. In addition, 26 free reading glasses were distributed to eligible beneficiaries.

The camp was conducted by a multidisciplinary team from Shija Eye Care Foundation as part of its continued commitment to improving access to quality eye care and promoting early detection and timely management of vision-related conditions in the community.

Shija Eye Care Foundation Conducts Free School Eye Check-up Camp at Takyel

Imphal, 25 July 2026: Shija Eye Care Foundation, in collaboration with Model Higher Secondary School, Takyel, organized a one-day Free School Eye Check-up Camp at Model Higher Secondary School, Takyel, Imphal West District, on 23 July 2026 under the AIOS project, "Nationwide Assessment of the Prevalence of Refractive Errors and Effective Refractive Error Coverage (eREC) among School-going Children in India."

A total of 417 students were screened during the camp. Of these, 83 students were identified with refractive errors, five were referred to the base hospital for further evaluation and management.

The initiative reflects Shija Eye Care Foundation's continued commitment to the early detection and timely management of vision problems among school children. By promoting regular eye screening and appropriate referrals, the programme aims to improve children's visual health, support better learning outcomes, and contribute to preventing avoidable visual impairment in the community.

Successful Completion of Phase I – Free Cataract & Pterygium Surgeries

Shija Eye Care Foundation is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first phase of surgeries for patients identified during the Free Eye Screening Camp held at Kakching on 30th June 2026.

From the referred patients, a total of 14 surgeries were successfully performed on 14th July 2026 under the PMJAY and NPCB schemes, ensuring that all eligible patients received treatment completely free of cost.

Surgical Outcomes:
• Cataract Surgeries: 10 Patients
• Pterygium Surgeries: 4 Patients

Bringing Clear Vision Closer to the Community.
