PAD: Blocked Leg Arteries

What is it?
Plaque builds up in your leg arteries, acting like a "clogged pipe" that restricts blood flow.

The Signs:

Pain or cramping in the legs when walking.
Cold feet or sores that don't heal.

The Fix (Endovascular):
Instead of major surgery, doctors use a minimally invasive “keyhole" approach:

Balloon: A tiny balloon is inflated to push the clog open.
Stent: A small metal tube is placed to keep the artery open.

The Result:
No big incisions, less pain, and you're usually back on your feet in just a few days.

CTO - Chronically occluded vessels for at least more than 3 months. Opening them offers a definite mortality and morbidity benefit. Recently opened a long CTO of right coronary artery.

Atrial septal defect is a hole in heart which can be closed with a device positioned through groin without any major surgery. Recently did a case of large ASD @ Rishabh Multispeciality hospital.

PDA closure in an adult patient poses different challenges. The pulmonary pressure is high, and sometimes they also have poor ejection fraction . A cath study will give a correct judgment and determine the feasibility of device closure. Recently, I met a similar patient who was refused for closure at another center. We did a cath study and then successfully closed the large PDA.
