When should you get an MRI? π§²π¦΄
MRI is a powerful imaging test that provides detailed views of bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, cartilage and nerves.
An MRI may be recommended when you have:
πΉ Persistent pain that doesnβt improve with treatment
πΉ Suspected ligament, tendon or cartilage injury
πΉ Back or neck pain with numbness, tingling or weakness
πΉ Suspected stress or occult fractures not visible on X-ray
πΉ Unexplained swelling, infection or a suspected tumor
πΉ For pre-operative planning or evaluation of certain post-surgical problems
β οΈ Remember: Not every pain requires an MRI. The decision should be based on your symptoms, clinical examination and other investigations.
Early diagnosis β Better treatment β Faster recovery.
