Screen Time Guidelines for Children (Parent Education)
Based on WHO AAP
👶 0–2 Years
• No screen time except video call
• Babies need human interaction, talking, and play for brain development.
• Screens may delay speech and social skills.
2–5 Years
• Maximum 1 hour per day of high-quality content.
• Parents should watch together with child
• Avoid screens during meals and before sleep.
👦 6–12 Years
• Limit to 1–2 hours per day for entertainment.
• Encourage:
• Outdoor play
• Reading books
• Creative activities
👧 Teenagers (13–18 Years)
• Ideally ≤2 hours/day
• Ensure:
• Adequate sleep (8–10hrs)
• Physical activity ≥1 hour daily
• No screen 1 hour before bedtime.

• Eye strain and headaches
• Sleep disturbance
• Obesity and reduced physical activity
• Attention problems
• Delayed speech
