दौरा (Seizure) पड़ते समय घबराहट में की गई छोटी-सी गलती भी मरीज के लिए नुकसानदायक हो सकती है।
दौरे के दौरान व्यक्ति को ज़बरदस्ती पकड़ना, उसके मुंह में कोई वस्तु डालना या पानी पिलाने की कोशिश करना खतरनाक हो सकता है।

ऐसी स्थिति में शांत रहें, व्यक्ति को सुरक्षित जगह पर करवट दिलाकर लिटाएं और दौरा खत्म होने तक उसका ध्यान रखें। यदि दौरा लंबे समय तक रहे या बार-बार आए, तो तुरंत डॉक्टर से संपर्क करें।
सही जानकारी और समय पर सही कदम किसी की जान बचा सकते हैं।
