I could get the chance to interact with pediatricians from Ajmer zone on 8th march Sunday.

Covered role of micronutrients in pediatric health and well as a part of NEST ...NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION AND SKILL TRAINING MODULE.

This a very prestigious module of IAP this year.

Talked about iron deficiency.

The incidence continues to be high.

Many hematological and non hematological manifestation like anemia,pica,breath holding spell,failure to thrive ànd other neuropsychiatric and cardiac manifestation can be associated with iron deficiency.

Prevention by high iron diet and supplements, fortification etc advisable.

Treatment till iron stores gets normalised should be continued.
