Some food combinations don’t just upset your stomach… they can quietly affect your skin and overall health too.
As a doctor, these are the combinations I’d never recommend at home.
Because healthy skin doesn’t start with products alone… it starts from your plate.
1. Sugar + Dairy
Example: milkshake, sweet lassi, ice cream, chocolate milk
Can trigger acne in some people because high sugar and dairy may affect insulin and acne-related hormones.
2. Fried Food + Cold Drink
Example: samosa + cola, fries + soft drink
High oil plus high sugar can increase inflammation, dullness and breakouts.
3. Maida + Cheese
Example: pizza, white sauce pasta, cheese sandwich
Refined carbs can spike blood sugar, and frequent high-glycemic food is linked with acne flare-ups in some people.
4. Chocolates + Milk
Example: milk chocolate, chocolate shake
The issue is usually not cocoa alone, but sugar plus dairy together, which may worsen acne-prone skin.
5. Packaged Snacks + Sugary Tea/Coffee
Example: biscuits + chai, chips + cold coffee
Low nutrition, high sugar and refined flour can affect skin glow and hair strength over time.
6. Instant Noodles + Soft Drink
Very low in protein and micronutrients. Hair health needs enough protein, iron, zinc and biotin. Deficiency in these can contribute to noticeable hair loss.
7. Bakery Food + Creamy Coffee
Example: pastry + frappe, donut + cappuccino
High sugar, refined flour and saturated fat can make skin look dull and may worsen breakouts.
