Seven-Day Certificate Course on Psychotherapies

Blossom Arts & Science College

9–16 February 2026

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Seven-Day Certificate Course on Psychotherapies, jointly organised by the Department of Psychology, Blossom Arts & Science College and InCare Malappuram.

I had the privilege of handling Session 1 (9th February 2026):
“Whispers of the Mind – Understanding Abnormality and Diagnosis in Psychotherapy.”

The session focused on helping students develop a clinical lens to understand psychological abnormality, diagnostic thinking, and the importance of contextual and ethical understanding in psychotherapy practice. We explored how diagnosis is not just about labels, but about understanding human experiences, distress, and functioning with sensitivity and responsibility.

It was encouraging to witness the active participation, curiosity, and thoughtful reflections from the students. Their engagement highlighted a strong interest in developing practical and ethical competence in psychotherapy.

Looking forward to the upcoming sessions in this intensive learning journey and continued collaboration in strengthening psychotherapy education.

👉 Stress, burnout, and emotional fatigue in the teaching profession
👉 Balancing professional responsibilities and personal well-being
👉 Building emotional resilience and self-care practices for educators
👉 Creating mentally healthy classrooms through mindful teaching approaches
👉 Breaking stigma around seeking psychological support

The interaction was open, reflective, and insightful, with teachers actively sharing experiences, concerns, and practical strategies. The engagement highlighted the importance of support systems, awareness, and early intervention in maintaining teachers’ mental well-being.

I am grateful to the organisers, coordinators, and participants for creating a safe and supportive space for dialogue. Such initiatives are vital in strengthening the mental health ecosystem within educational institutions.
