Optimal s***matogenesis requires a testicular temperature 2-4°C lower than core body temperature, as elevated temperatures can compromise s***m production. Prolonged heat exposure leads to decreased s***m concentration, motility, and viability. Various factors contribute to increased scrotal temperature, including frequent use of hot baths, saunas, or jacuzzis. Occupational hazards, such as prolonged sitting or working in hot environments, can also play a role. Additionally, clothing choices like tight underwear or restricted gym attire can negatively impact testicular temperature regulation. Certain medical conditions, such as high fevers, can temporarily induce infertility. S***m production is a continuous 64- to 72-day process, meaning the adverse effects of heat exposure on semen quality may be delayed and last up to three months; however, removal of the heat source typically facilitates recovery.
