Prostate Cancer Can Be Silent—Don’t Wait for Symptoms
Prostate cancer may develop without noticeable pain or warning signs during its early stages. Waiting until symptoms appear can delay diagnosis and limit treatment options.
A PSA blood test, along with a doctor’s assessment and, when appropriate, a Digital Re**al Examination (DRE), may help identify prostate abnormalities at an earlier stage. Screening is not the same for everyone—the right time depends on age, family history, overall health and personal risk factors.
👨⚕️ Speak with your doctor about prostate screening:
🔹 Around age 50 for men at average risk
🔹 Earlier for men with a strong family history or other risk factors
🔹 At any age when concerning urinary symptoms are present
Seek medical evaluation if you notice:
⚠️ Difficulty or pain while urinating
⚠️ Frequent urination, especially at night
⚠️ Blood in the urine or semen
⚠️ Persistent pain in the lower back, hips or pelvic region
⚠️ Unexplained bone pain
These symptoms do not always indicate cancer, but they should not be ignored. Several non-cancerous prostate conditions can cause similar problems, so proper medical evaluation is essential.
When prostate cancer is detected while still localized, treatment outcomes are generally excellent.
