🎾 Tennis Elbow – It’s Not Just a Problem for Tennis Players!

Do you have pain on the outer side of your elbow while lifting a cup of tea, using a computer mouse, opening a jar, or shaking hands? You may be suffering from Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis).

Despite its name, only a small percentage of patients are actually tennis players. It is a common condition caused by repetitive strain and tiny tears in the tendons that attach to the outside of the elbow.

The good news? Most patients improve with the right diagnosis and timely treatment, ranging from activity modification and physiotherapy to injections and, in selected cases, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.

Over the next few posts, we will discuss the causes, symptoms, prevention, and the latest treatment options for Tennis Elbow.

(Lateral Epicondylitis) Understanding the Causes, Treatment, and Recovery What is Tennis Elbow? Tennis elbow, medically called Lateral Epicondylitis or Lateral Elbow Tendinopathy, is one of the most common causes of pain on the outer side of the elbow. Despite its name, most patients with tennis elb...

Happy and privileged to be part of the ISAKOS Regional Summit, Mumbai – June 2026, organised under the banner of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

This Star Wars-themed conference was truly one of its kind in India, bringing together a stellar fleet of international and national faculty for an unforgettable academic feast.

Heartiest congratulations to the ISAKOS international leadership, Dr David Parker and Dr João Mendes, and to our own stars, Dr Sachin Tapasvi and Dr Parag Sancheti, for curating such a memorable summit.

Kudos to Team IAS, led by President Dr Sundararajan SR and Secretary Dr Rajeev Raman, along with the Executive Committee members, the editorial team of our national journal, and the impeccable team working behind the scenes — especially Dr Prathik Hegde — for making this summit one of the finest sports and arthroscopy meetings in India in the recent past.

It was a great academic experience to participate in an engaging debate on the arthroscopic Latarjet procedure, deliver invited talks on HAGL repairs of the shoulder, and present our technique of dual-plane stability for acromioclavicular joint dislocation using minimal implants.

We were especially fortunate in the Shoulder Hall, connecting with stalwarts such as Giovanni, Emilio, Denny Lie, Guillermo, Clara, and our own national stars. It was a truly enriching experience for every shoulder enthusiast.

A memorable meeting filled with rich academic exchange, friendship, collaboration, and inspiration.

Looking forward to many more such academic celebrations.

Best wishes for ISAKOS Sydney 2027!
