Regular physical activity is an important part of a heart-healthy lifestyle and can help improve cholesterol levels.
Less sitting. More moving.
One of the most common questions I hear from patients with high cholesterol is: "What should I do to improve it?"
The answer isn't just about one food, one exercise, or one medicine. Cholesterol management is a long-term approach that includes regular physical activity, a heart-healthy diet, healthy weight management, good sleep, blood pressure and blood sugar control, and appropriate medical treatment when required.
Regular exercise and physical activity can support better cardiovascular fitness, healthy weight management and overall heart health. Walking, cycling, swimming and other suitable forms of activity can be incorporated into your routine according to your fitness level and medical condition.
For people concerned about LDL cholesterol, high triglycerides, coronary artery disease (CAD), heart disease or cardiovascular risk, lifestyle modification is an important part of comprehensive heart care.
But remember-if you already have heart disease, coronary blockages, chest pain, diabetes, high blood pressure or other medical conditions, your exercise plan should be individualised.
Avoid suddenly starting intense exercise without appropriate medical advice.
There is no shortcut to a healthy heart.
Move more. Sit less. Stay consistent.
Your daily habits can make a meaningful difference to your long-term cardiovascular health.
Save this reel as a reminder to keep moving.
