How much exercise does someone over 60 actually need?

Global falls-prevention and healthy-ageing guidelines recommend regular balance and strengthening activity for every older adult, regardless of current fitness level — it’s positioned as a ‘strong recommendation,’ not an optional extra, precisely because of its proven role in reducing fall risk and preserving independence.

How many Indian elders actually feel lonely? The number may surprise you.

India’s Longitudinal Ageing Study (LASI), which surveyed over 72,000 people nationwide, found 20.5% of adults 45+ report moderate loneliness and 13.3% report severe loneliness — while a separate LASI analysis of those 60+ found 13.4% report frequent loneliness. This isn’t a rare, isolated feeling.

How do you manage a parent’s diabetes without turning every meal into a fight?

How do you manage a parent’s diabetes without turning every meal into a fight?

Geriatric nutrition guidance favours consistent meal timing and portion control over rigid food banning — an approach shown to support better blood sugar control while preserving quality of life, which matters because strict food policing at home is a common source of caregiver-parent conflict.

For better brand positioning, I’d suggest evolving the tagline to:

“60Fit – Your Health Partner for Healthy Ageing.”

It builds long-term trust and fits a healthcare service brand better than a superhero reference.

How often should a parent over 60 actually get blood tests done?

General geriatric screening guidance recommends a comprehensive panel (sugar, lipid profile, kidney/liver function, thyroid, vitamin D/B12, CBC) at least once a year for seniors — more often if they have an existing condition like diabetes or hypertension being actively managed.

Why do so many Indian seniors develop joint pain after 65?

Community studies across India show osteoarthritis in roughly 54-56.6% of adults over 60, rising further with age — making it one of the most common conditions in Indian seniors, alongside hypertension. It’s common, but ‘common’ doesn’t mean ‘nothing can be done.’
