A very rare case of Ectopic pregnancy where one fallopian tube was ruptured (right), but after Emergency Laparotomy, the other fallopian tube (left) also contained an unruptured Ectopic pregnancy.

An ectopic pregnancy is a condition where a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus (womb) instead of inside it.
Most commonly, it occurs in the fallopian tube, called tubal pregnancy.

This pregnancy cannot develop normally and can be dangerous if not managed early.

Risk Factors
Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes
Previous ectopic pregnancy
Pelvic infections like PID
History of surgery in tubes
Smoking
Use of fertility treatments

Ectopic pregnancy can be diagnosed using:
Pelvic Ultrasound (TVS scan)
Blood tests (β-hCG levels)

Treatment depends on multiple factors
Medicine (Methotrexate) in selected cases

Laparoscopic surgery
Emergency surgery if rupture occurs

Ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency, but early detection saves lives.
