GALL STONES EVEN AFTER GALL BLADDER REMOVAL SURGERY ??
YES. Not a fault of your surgeon but an unusual and rare complication. It can happen after Open or Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
A known but unusual complication after Gall bladder removal surgery, may happen both after Open or Lap Gall Bladder removal surgeries. This condition develops due to enlargement of the remnant part of Gall bladder or Cystic stump enlargement with formation of stone inside it. If associated with abdominal pain, then known as Stump Cholecystitis.
Management is removal of the remnant part of Gall bladder which is known as Stump Cholecystectomy, preferably by Laparoscopic approach.
