Why don’t all Day-3 embryos reach the blastocyst stage? 🌱

It’s a common question—and the answer is that not every embryo has the biological potential to continue developing to Day 5/6.

Several factors can influence embryo development, including:

🧬 Chromosomal abnormalities
🥚 Egg-related factors, including maternal age
🧬 S***m DNA and other s***m-related factors
🔬 The embryo’s intrinsic quality
🏥 Laboratory and culture conditions
A Day-3 embryo that stops developing before blastocyst does not necessarily mean the laboratory “lost” the embryo. Blastocyst culture is, in part, a natural selection stage where embryos with sufficient developmental potential continue to Day 5/6.

💛 Every embryo has its own developmental journey. Understanding the biology can help us interpret the outcome with greater clarity and less self-blame.
