☀️ A deeper conversation around sunscreen at ACSICON Goa — our national dermatosurgery conference.

As a panel moderator, it was fascinating to explore photoprotection beyond simply asking, “Which SPF should I use?”

We discussed sunscreen in children 👶, UV filters and their science 🔬, UVA/UVB and visible-light protection, when to use sunscreen, when it may not be necessary, correct application and reapplication, duration of protection, skin of colour, pigmentation, and the evolving conversation around environmental impact 🌍.

What stood out was the need to move towards evidence-based, personalised photoprotection — where age, skin type, indication, lifestyle, geography and individual needs all matter.

A meaningful scientific exchange with colleagues, bringing together global perspectives and practical dermatology. 🌎🧴

Because effective photoprotection is not just about SPF — it is about knowing why, when, where and for whom.

Yesterday in Kollam, Kerala, it was a wonderful day of teaching, training, interaction and hands-on aesthetic dermatology. 💉✨

As Convenor, SIG Aesthetics, IADVL, it was a pleasure to train an enthusiastic group of dermatologists in Botulinum Toxin (Dysport, Botox, Stunnox etc) and Dermal Fillers.

From facial assessment and anatomy to injection techniques, safety and achieving natural-looking outcomes, the entire session was highly interactive. The curiosity, enthusiasm and engagement of the participants throughout the day made the experience truly rewarding. 🙌

Hands-on learning is where knowledge meets precision — helping dermatologists refine their skills and translate scientific principles into safe, predictable and natural-looking aesthetic outcomes for their patients.

My sincere thanks to Kollam Derma Club, IADVL Kerala and IADVL Academy for this excellent initiative and for creating a meaningful platform for advancing aesthetic dermatology education. 🤝
