Honoured to be invited as Guest Faculty at NHFCCD 2025 in Dhaka from 1–2 December. With 600–700 delegates and global faculty from the USA, Canada, EU and Asia, the conference has truly grown from big to BIGGER. My deep respect to Late Brig. Dr. Abdul Malik, the pioneer of cardiology in Bangladesh.

The scientific program led by Dr. Fazila Malik was outstanding. I Delivered two lectures, including “Complex PCI Without MCS Support,” and performed 2 CTO Live cases. The imaging-guided cap puncture technique generated strong interest, with many acknowledging it as NEW to their practice.

It was a rewarding two days of science, learning, and collaboration.
Grateful for the exceptional hospitality — and for the enduring friendship between doctors of Bangladesh and India.

A fulfilling journey across the East of India — Kolkata, Jamshedpur & Ranchi — filled with learning, collaboration and innovation in CTO and complex PCI.

📍19 November, Kolkata – Manipal Mukundapur Hospital
Served as Course Director for a dedicated CTO workshop where 3 highly engaging CTO cases were coordinated by Dr. Parijat Deb Chowdhry, Dr. Soumya Patra and Dr. Amit Bahuwala.
I demonstrated three different CTO techniques across the cases —
* Antegrade puncture using the Infiltrac wire
* Retrograde approach
* Antegrade dissection re-entry
It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and participation from the entire team.

Later, we also conducted another workshop at Desun Hospital, Kolkata where we completed one CTO and one bifurcation case with Live-in-Box support, complemented by rich discussion, insights and expert exchanges. The day concluded with a focused dinner meeting with a committed group of cardiologists.

📍20 November – Jamshedpur, Meditrina Hospital
A long yet immensely productive day performing 4 challenging cases — 3 CTOs and 1 calcium (OA). We began at 9:30 AM and continued until 10 PM. Grateful for the teamwork, energy and curiosity throughout.

📍21 November – Ranchi, Institute of Medical Sciences
Had the privilege of guiding complex PCI alongside my dear friend Dr. Hemanth Narayan Ray, followed by an interactive teaching session on CTO for the next generation of interventional cardiologists.

Three days, three cities — rich experiences, challenging cases, and meaningful learning. Honoured to share knowledge, innovate together, and strengthen our collective expertise in the field of complex coronary interventions.
Looking forward to many more such engagements across the country. 🙏🏼

✨ Back from CCT Kobe 2025✨

Complex Cardiovascular Therapeutics (CCT) Kobe continues to be one of the most premier interventional cardiology meetings in the world, and undoubtedly the most prestigious platform for CTO PCI (Chronic Total Occlusion).

Having been a regular invited faculty for over 12 years, this year felt truly special. In addition to being the Judge at CTO case presentations, I had the honour of chairing a live case demonstration — a proud moment as it marked the first time an Indian has chaired a live case at CCT! 🇮🇳

Over the years, our persistent work and collaboration in the field of CTO PCI have earned tremendous respect and friendship from some of the finest CTO operators in Japan. It was wonderful reconnecting with many of them — true masters of their craft — and exploring deeper collaborations to continue advancing training and development of CTO operators across India.

Adding to the excitement, 2026 will be a milestone year as we host the IJCTO (Indo-Japanese CTO Club) in Trivandrum again from June 5–7, 2026. Grateful that all key Japanese CTO experts have already confirmed their participation and support.

Deeply thankful for this journey, the learning, and the friendships built over these years — and looking forward to many more milestones ahead in this incredible field! ❤️

Feeling happy and fulfilled to have concluded yet another successful CTO training program under the banner of the Interventional Cardiology Research and Training Foundation (ICRTF).

This edition was held at the University Heart Center, Frankfurt / Main Campus Schifferstrasse, in collaboration with Prof. Gerald Werner. Eight interventional cardiologists participated in this 3-day workshop, during which seven CTO cases were performed — including three retrograde procedures. Alongside the cases, there were multiple interactive sessions and lectures by Prof. Werner, Dr. Marco Ochs, and Myself, covering various nuances of CTO PCI.
My heartfelt thanks to Prof. Werner for his remarkable support in making this program a success — from case selection to meticulous coordination and planning.

Many often ask me why I devote so much time to these training programs. The truth is, over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the finest minds in interventional cardiology. Sharing that knowledge, refining techniques, and creating opportunities for others to grow feels like the most meaningful way to give back — not just to my peers, but ultimately to the patients we serve.
That spirit of learning, sharing, and advancing care is what drives ICRTF — and we will continue to pursue this mission by training and empowering more cardiologists around the world.

In the Land of Cardiac Imaging and Research… ✨
An enriching 4 days in Seoul, South Korea filled with learning, collaboration, and proud moments.

🔹 At Asan Medical Center, I had the privilege of meeting Dr. D.W. Park(OCTIVUS Trial PI)a pioneer in research, to discuss future collaborations in clinical studies & training programs between India and Korea.

🔹 At Samsung Medical Center, discussions with Dr. J.Y. Hahn (RENOVATE Trial PI) opened new avenues for research partnerships and knowledge exchange.

🔹 With Dr. B.K. Kim (KCTO Club) and Dr JK Han we explored opportunities for idea exchange and learnings in collaboration with IJCTO.

🌟 A proud moment: delivering a lecture on OCT in Complex LM Bidurcation at ENCORE 2025 as an Invited Faculty, sharing interesting cases before a large international audience.

Looking forward to strong collaborations of ICRTF and IJCTO with South Korean KOLs & Institutes and showcasing the innovations and clinical excellence from India on the global stage.
