Animal Husbandry Department Leh Organizes a 3-Day Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies Camp in Diskit, Nubra
Leh, May 21, 2026: The ABC&AR Team of Animal Husbandry Department Leh successfully conducted a three-day Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies camp in Diskit, Nubra, from May 18th to 20th, 2026.
The camp was organized in collaboration with the Hotel Association Diskit and the Diskit community, represented by the Nambardar of Diskit. The initiative aimed to control the stray dog population and prevent the spread of rabies in the region through sterilization and vaccination.
During the three-day camp, a total of 129 stray dogs were sterilized and administered anti-rabies vaccines by the ABC & AR Team of Doctors, Paravets, Animal Handlers and the staffs of Block Veterinary Officer, Nubra.
